Feel free to add me if you wish, my diary is open.

Doesn't appear that there are many Polish people here. I called my one grandmother Busia (pronounced bush-a) and my grandfather Dziadzia (pronounced ja-ja). I now have a grandson and he calls me Dziadzia - its easy to pronounce for the young ones. My wife called her grandmother Nana and her grandfather Papa - she is…

Feel free to add me if you wish. I have been on MFP for about 70 days now and really like the idea of tracking what I eat. I found that the concept works if you are dedicated to it.

I, too, am in my early 60s. Any of you feel free to add me if you wish. I enjoy cooking but am rather careful of the things I make for dinner. I am trying to watch my cholesterol and sodium intake. I look forward to planning out my meals through this program - actually my doctor told me about it. He uses it as well.

I just read your profile page - says that you are pre-diabetic and have a difficult time going up stairs. I would imagine that these items still exist today despite your success to date. Does this guy really understand the problems you are facing? I would think that he would encourage you to succeed if he is really serious…

I would order the grilled chicken salad with salsa for the dressing. No chips or tortillas at all. Take half of the salad home for tomorrow. I actually made chicken enchiladas with creamy tomatillo sauce today for dinner - only 207 calories each including the tortilla. Was the perfect dinner and I have leftovers as well.

You are welcome to add me if you wish. I am relatively new as well.

FYI everyone - The person who started this topic has deactivated their account. Appears that they may have received the information they were looking for and moved on with their life.

I have seen a similar diet. Its called the Cabbage Diet where you eat as much cabbage soup as you want and you start with fresh fruits n day one, fresh vegetables on day two and so forth. It is typically administered for over weight patients who are to undergo surgery and need to lose weight before that can happen. I know…

I wondered that question as well. Do bananas contain the same amount of sugar regardless of how ripe they are? Does a chemical reaction occur in bananas as they ripen that would create increased amounts of sugar? I basically gave up eating bananas due to the sugar content.

Water always tastes great with scotch. Seriously, I use fresh lemon wedges in mine. Only 3 calories for a quarter wedge.

You can go as M&M's - one plain and one with nuts.

My physician wants me to stay at less than 2000 mg of sodium. I think that provides me a little cushion if I go over but will stay within USDA recommendations. It's amazing how many food products contain sodium - raw meat and poultry, most processed foods, even raw vegetables. I track sodium with my other items.

I felt the same way. I think the OP is somewhat immature and was trying to find a reason to be upset with her friend who friended her "EX" friend. The OP would be better off posting her own picture than stealing copyrighted material and using it as her own. Way to much drama with the OP as far as I am concerned.

Let me propose another idea. Why not pump before going out and have that milk available to feed the baby when at a restaurant? [/quote] I having been following this thread for a while and even made a comment earlier. Quite frankly FL Guy, I think the real hang up is all yours. Forget about where a woman breast feeds, it is…

Being a male addressing this poster, I found that your hang up regarding a woman breast feeding to be somewhat disturbing. I looked at your profile and reread your initial discussion for this post and now understand why you have the problem - I am guessing that you are rather immature and upset with your so called "EX"…

I saw that segment on the show as well. I thought it was pretty disgusting that the blonde appeared to be more concerned about her looks than trying to live a positive healthy lifestyle. I wonder what message she is sending to her young daughter. I thought the doctor from Yale (I think) had good insight - the tube feeding…

Hi - I am from Northwest Indiana as well. Feel free to add me if you wish. I give you a lot of credit for trying to take charge of your life - don't look at it as losing 70+ lbs. I like to think you are trying to succeed with taking control of your life regardless where you end up with in weight loss. It's always one pound…

I have worked with a dietician who suggested the I eat 55% carbs, 15% protein and 30% fat. A few years ago, those proportions worked great and I loss weight without problem. I am not suggesting unhealthy carbs - I eat lots of vegetables and fruit. I try to limit my meats or poultry while keeping my cholesterol intake to…

I like the Ken's Lite dressings - they have a variety of them. Try the olive oil vinagrette or the caesar dressing - those are two of my favorites. Both are low in calories and fat. I actually had the Lite Caesar tonight. I toss my salad in a large bowl to coat most of it - I use much less dressing this way. I generally…

I just looked at my food listing since I had tenderloin the other day. I have 110 calories for 4 oz., 3g of fat (1 g of saturated), 190 mg sodium, 21g of protein, 65mg of cholesterol and 4% iron. This is directly from the label. Hope that helps.

If you can find it, I have used Better Homes and Gardens New Dieter's Cook Book. They have hundreds of easy recipes that are very low in calories. Each recipe includes the various nutritional amounts. The book is well organized and the recipes are great. I would suggest that you obtain a copy - maybe try Amazon. It also…

I used a different calculator that I saw posted here under a different topic. It was relatively easy to use and only required a few measurements. The site is www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/. Both my wife and I used it. You may want to try that one and compare to your other result just as a comparison.

Thanks everyone for posting, it helps me a lot. I know weight loss will help reverse the impact in borderline diabetics. I tend to eat more fruit than refined sugars thinking that it was better in the long run. I now stay away from watermelon and cantaloupe due to the high sugar content. I am learning everyday. Thanks…

You can use the "All Meals" feature to see the listing for the apple you had at breakfast and record it for lunch or a snack.

It's better that he said no to the bacon than to no to makin' bacon.

Like everyone else, calories are king and need to be reduced in order to lose weight. I try to balance the amount of calories ingested by eating healthy and therefore I do watch the marcos somewhat closely. The goals I set for myself are 55% carbs, 15% protein and 30% fat. I try to maintain 200 mg of cholesterol or less…
