It's almost surreal.

I had an unusual Non-Scale Victory yesterday. My landlord asked me to squeeze into a tight space in the laundry closet to replace a smoke detector battery on the ceiling. I barely made it, and if I were 20 lbs heavier, I don't think either of us could have done it. Mr. Landlord then told me he noticed I lost weight…

I'm looking for some more new friends, so add me, ya'll.

Eh, the last coconut water I had was about 80 calories per serving.

I agree with this. It's not just one treat, it's one treat multiplied by however many birthdays there are in the class. Which might be an extra 25-40 (!) treats for yours and everyone else's kid over the year. If you wanna celebrate your child's birthday, do it at home where you can have control over everything.

This is seriously inspirational. I started my weight loss around the same time, August 2012. I had great success for a year (lost 90 lbs) but like Daniel I got blindsided by a major life event and fell back into my old ways. Sweet Lord forgive me for being a diet backslider. Unlike Daniel (who says he maintained in the…

I'm back on MFP and looking for new friends! I posted my "interview" a couple pages back.

I just got back on MFP yesterday after a year's absence. I lost around 85 pounds last year, which was a great success, but then I got lazy. I haven't gained ALL of that back, thankfully, and I'm actually feeling very confident and motivated knowing that I had success last year and that I know for certain I can lose again.…

1. Where were you born? Cumberland, MD 2. Where do you live at the moment? Hokkaido, Japan 3. Where else have you lived? Lexington, VA (college) 4. What is your current occupation? What is your dream occupation? Currently an assistant English teacher. Will be moving (back) to my dream job of running my own business next…

It's July 2013, not 2012 ;)

I'm eating a pork tongue sandwich as I type this.... yum! And for the people saying "gross," you knew exactly what you were getting when you read the thread title.

Fantastic job in 7 1/2 months... kinda jealous. How tall are you?

I'm teaching English in a small town in Hokkaido, Japan. I've been living here for 2 years. I signed up for MFP last August and have lost about 30kg/70lbs since then. I've spent a lot of time getting to know my local supermarkets and what is/isn't readily available. Luckily for me, my town is so small (4700 people) that…

This made me laugh. "Or, in the parlance of our times, haters gonna hate"

A spoonful of tuna, a dab of light mayo, a dab of mustard, pickles, Old Bay seasoning or curry powder, wrap up inside a piece of iceberg lettuce. Delish.

Sometimes I think the Daily Mail will print literally anything for a click or a sale. A-NY-THING.

I trust neither the Daily Mail (Rupert Murdoch tabloid) nor 1-post users for diet advice.

At 820 calories per cup, you and I must have differing opinions about what a filling portion of almonds looks like.

One of the most dreaded questions a guy can get from a woman: "how old do I look?" Either avoid the question or guess way low. There's no way to win this one.

There's a Binge Eating Support Group forum here on MFP that I'd recommend joining http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/743-binge-eating-support-group

I used to be on the last hole out on my belt before I lost weight. Gradually I hopped from larger to smaller holes. Eventually, I had to add 3 new holes using a hammer and nail cos I'm too cheap to buy a new one. Anyway, today when I put on my work pants, I went all the way to the 3rd new hole (the smallest) for the first…

This is a brilliant idea. May have to try it myself.

I'd say take the compliment, as the above posters wrote, most people have good intentions, even if their comments arent 100% tactful. BUT don't feel obligated to give out numbers if it makes you feel uncomfortable. A few of my acquaintances have asked "how much have you lost" and if I don't want to say, I just reply "I'm…

Wow... yep, I have to agree. Then again, not too many adults bust out the camera for goofy shots when they're stone sober, in my experience.

A breakup worked pretty well for me (at least on the weight loss part... not so much on the others)

I like your pun topic title.

He's 5'9" according to one of his other posts

I work in a Japanese office and there's basically a limitless supply of green tea. An infographic floating around the internet suggests that green tea has both one of the largest and most consistently positive bodies of scientific literature supporting it (for cholesterol levels etc)
