  • One of our families favorite is Minestrone soup. I add meat, any is good: beef sausage, chicken. I don't add the pasta. Sometimes i sprinkle Parmesan on top when I serve it. It's as tasty as pizza but much healthier.
  • These calorie counters are built on an estimate based on a lot of data tracking many people. They are a very well informed guess. Your personal metabolism may run a tiny bit different from the calorie planner. You may have to bump your calories a tiny bit ~100 for a couple of weeks to see if you can get the results you…
  • I'm trying to stay sane while kicking *kitten* and managing kids through this crazy life.
  • hummus, cream cheese, avocado, ranch, olive oil, etc
  • Sleeping. It's just so hard to go to bed at a decent time. I have so much to get done and this is my down time. Hmmm. Maybe I will schedule some down time early tomorrow to see if that gets me to bed by 11.
  • Bump for later. I'm looking forward to reading the responses you will get.
  • LOL. Now that my friends is the true spirit of Thanksgiving. :)
  • Bigger cups. Use a 16 oz glass for water instead of an 8 oz one.
  • I pack my Husband's lunch and snacks for 14 hours. We use an insulated lunch bag with plastic ice packs and most things i pack are cold so it stays cool for about 24 hours. I pack cheese, fruit, veggies with ranch or PB, pepperoni, nuts, greek yogurt, chili, and any leftovers like broiled pork with spaghetti squash. I…
  • I log what I eat. If my toddler eats 25% of it I log the 75%. I usually put it on his own plate. I think it's a good thing to get him into eating of his own plate and not other peoples and it is easier for me to keep track.
  • Bump for late. This is SO inspiring. Thank you all for sharing.
  • New Rules Of Lifting for Women is a great place to start. It has a lot of information and all you need to know to get started. The movements are explained and pictured well. I checked it out at the library to read and start the program before buying it. I recommend it to all my friends that are interested in weight lifting.
  • I have had insomnia off and on for years. When it is active I do the following: 1. No cardio after dinner 2. No caffeine after lunch 3. Quiet time for 30 minutes or so before bed 4. Stick to a schedule including not sleeping in or napping 4. Yoga before bed time. Associate something with bed time. Find something that helps…
  • It's good in coffee, cereal, and protein drinks. It has less calories and protein but more calcium. If it is on sale get some and try it out.
  • We eat a lot of meat and veggies in my house since my husband started doing a paleo diet a few months ago. My favorite easy veggie dish right now is baked acorn squash in the microwave. Cut the squash in half and scoop out the seeds. Wrap each half with plastic and place on plate. Cook on high 5 minutes and let stand for 5…
  • I'm so happy you have found a way to deal with binging. You have a good strategy. I can't remember when I started binge eating, about 12 i think, so it has been most of my life. There are movies about anorexia and bulimia but this is not the same thing. It took me years to realize i had a problem but several years ago I…
  • I give myself a cheat day each week to have ONE serving of whatever I have been craving for the week. Sometimes I crave pizza, brownies, and potato soup so I have those on my cheat day for the week. Some weeks I just want a caramel mocha. Each week is different. I also save my cheat day for parties or family dinners. It is…
  • I started lifting "Body for Life" by Bill Phillips and fell in love. More recently I have done "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" and "The New Rules of Lifting for Abs" by Lou Schuler. I would strongly recommend "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" as a way to start lifting. He does a good job of explaining the science…
  • I gave it up a few years ago. I switched from coffee and diet coke to tea, 6-8 a day, since black tea has about half the caffeine of coffee. Green tea has about 1/4 the caffeine of coffee so i slowly switched to that over about a month and decreased it to about 3 a day. I gave it up again when pregnant and switched to…
  • I am going to try some negative pull ups tonight. I have been using the assisted pull up machine at the gym and slowly reducing the weight. I have improved over the last 2 months but I feel like I need something else. Last week i started adding a few heavy sets of lat pull downs and that has helped but I really want to do…
  • We use Body Fortress Whey Protein. You can get it on Amazon for about $30 for a 2 pack of 2 lbs each. It is good with water. It is good in oatmeal. It is great in a shaker cup with a few ice cubes and 8-12 oz of milk. I think it is sweet so I always add more than 8 oz of liquid. These are my favorite recipes right now to…
  • I would go to the Emergency room. This is serious. When you get the bill later from the hospital call them FIRST off and arrange for payment or you maybe they can cut you a deal. How much longer can you really wait? Until you pass out and can't leave by yourself and you need an ambulance? Best of luck and please take care.
  • I am a stay at home mom of 2. My littles are 9 and 2 and Husband works 100 hours a week so I take care of everything. There is plenty to distract me from anything. I swear that motherhood has given me ADD. It's hard to focus for more than 15 minutes. I sit down to "rest" for 30 minutes (read, TV, etc) and before i know it…
  • I ate 2 cookies before lunch, not really a big deal. The problem today came when i ate the biggest brownie i have seen in my life. Do I regret eating it? I should have saved it for tomorrow and not had 2 deserts in one day but I didn't want to stop myself. If i had tracked today it would have been 4 brownies. Oh my!…
  • When the Halloween candy came out a few months ago I had a Butterfinger. Yuck. Way to sweet and not a lot of flavor. I used to love those things. I will stick with my individually packaged Ghirardelli squares, my "fancy" chocolate. I can have one if that is all I need, or 3, whatever the night calls for.
  • Multi-vitamin, calcium, fish oil, and protein. That is all. I have tried Hydroxycut in the past and it was a waste of money. I could have gotten the same effects from plain old green tea or coffee. I read somewhere "Don't ask me about supplements if you are still eating Big Macs" (probably the in The New Rules Of Lifting…
  • Bump for later when I have time to read all this... Good job everyone and keep up the hard work.
