does anyone take supplements?

Does anyone take any diet supplements or anything? I know actual dieting is the only way to lose weight, but I don't know if they are helpful or a waste of money. I heard of this one called Adrenal Defense, but I can't find any reviews. Can you guys let me know what you do and what works?

Protein and creatine have several clinical studies that prove they work. 90% of other supplements out there are a waste of money IF your nutrition is correct with the right ratio of macro/micro nutrients.

Multi-vitamin, calcium, fish oil, and protein. That is all.
I have tried Hydroxycut in the past and it was a waste of money. I could have gotten the same effects from plain old green tea or coffee.
I read somewhere "Don't ask me about supplements if you are still eating Big Macs" (probably the in The New Rules Of Lifting For Women). That makes sense to me. My weakness is sweets, a habit I have control of but I am no where near giving them up.
Good luck. I am interested to see what people say about this.

I take several supplements by Standard Process. I log them under a recipe named "daily". You can only get them from a doctor, I get mine from my chiropractor. It's all natural ingredients. Other than those i take Vit A (cuz i'm a night shift worker so i don't see much of the sun) and a low dose Aspirin.

Standard Process can be bought online and unlike some supplements, they are their own manufacturer which is good because they are doing better quality control of their products. That's the plus. It's still a little on the high cost end(like their fiber caps for example) and a lot of what they sell are "gimmick" products. Pills and powders for "detox" (no such thing) and "purification" are probable their best sellers. But again, just for quality of their products, they would be a good choice if one wants to go the supplementation route.
I think you meant to say Vitamin D which is synthesized in the body by sunlight.

  • Protein and creatine.
    Fish, flax, borage oil.
    Calcium+d
Glucosamine+chondroitin (i have lateral distoid meniscus in both knees)
Cinnamon (keeps my blood sugar stable, im hypoglycemic)
    B complex
    Magnesium (cardiac arrhythmia).

Yes, i could get these from food, but its a lot easier to just grab a pill than to eat 2 lbs of greens and brazil nuts for magnesium.

    Protein (faster than food, sometimes)
    Creatine (dat dere ATP)
    fish oil (joints)
    fiber (keep things moving)

While I'm very doubtful that Adrenal Defense actually does anything with my adrenal gland, I'd be very hesitant to use a product that could. Holy Hulk-smash, Batman!

Ashwagandha, other than that only occasional fibre supplementation.
