Not so much my issue. When my friends succeed, I try to figure out what they are doing that works and see if it will work for me. I'm not a competitive person by nature so maybe that's why. But can you use his success as an additional motivator for you?

My amazing list o' friends motivates me. Several have gone through and continue to go through hard times, much harder than anything I think I might struggle with, and yet they don't give up. I couldn't bear the thought of letting them down or giving up. And also because I'd like to be as awesome as they are.

Nice save. I like using the recipe builder for all the stuff I make on a regular basis. It saves lots of time and is only painfully slow to enter one time.

I solve world problems while on the treadmill. It helps pass the time.

Would you hypothetically be okay with it or would you flay yourself with guilt because of it? What would make this hypothetical person ok with the decision s/he made?

This is true. I'm her friend and I take a lot of time. Questions and stuff. Many of the people offering up help are on my list o' friends and the others are people I've admired from afar. They are truly a wonderful, real world resource for what works and what is derp. The new people who have taken a chance and reached out…

And, she has an awesome way with cookies. Never leave out the cookies. Even late at night, she WILL do what needs to be done.

What he said. Life will be much better when you are king of the world. I'm super excited about the inexpensive meat that you'll be providing. I haven't had a decent prime rib in forever and that's what I'm hungry for today.

If you look on the "getting started" home page, there are four guys who have posted Adopt a noob (or in Snowflehk's case, return-a-noob) threads. They are all solid people with some great information and willing to share that information. Take advantage of what they are offering.

I've been hypo for a long time. You can do this. It's a little blip to make sure your meds are at the right level and that level changes based on lots of stuff, including how much weight you've lost. I've lost 50 and have had to have my meds adjusted twice. No real secrets, just the same stuff that works for everyone else.…

Good God, no. Don't treat it like a job. Treat it much better than that. Treat it like a relationship with your new soul partner, your new BFF. I've wanted to quit most jobs I've ever had within a month of being employed. Treating this like a dance with my new BFF has been successful. He's right, it does take discipline…

This is the kind of New Year's note I love to read. Excellent and thank you.

Welcome to MFP! How much do you enjoy logging? That might be the determining factor for me. If you like seeing the exercise minutes each day then I'd set myself as sedentary and log them; if you find it to be a pain, then lightly active and don't log it. Just not both. Try one way and see how it works for you. If you don't…

This! Congrats to you on your hard work.

The issue I have with this plan has nothing to do with religion. It has to do with restricting what it is you eat. Any time I've ever been told "DO NOT EAT THIS," I instantly want to run right out and eat it. It doesn't even matter if it was something I despised, being told not to eat makes it leap to the top of the "I…
