  • I am the same way. Going to a restaurant with a buffet is the easiest way to try new food, because if you don't like it, you don't have to feel guilty about not eating it. Also, when you are trying a new food, put your thumb in your palm, and wrap your fingers around it, kinda making a fist and squeeze, for some people it…
  • I would say you should consume at least 1200 calories a day, to avoid the dreaded starvation mode. Loosing more than 3-4 lbs a week can be very unhealthy, and can lead to many problems down the road, like loose skin for example. At first you will probably lose quite a bit, but it will, most likely, slow down. When this…
  • Theres no reason to fret about it unless you make it a daily habit. Its perfectly ok to indulge every once in awhile, other wise dieting would be near impossible. Just realize that it's only one day, a little set back but nothing that can't be easily made up for.
  • Mines jump roping. It doesn't even feel like exercise when I do it because I enjoy it :)
  • Are you drinking milk and eating fruit? MFP does not distinguish between added and natural sugar, so it makes it difficult to stay within the sugar goal. If your eating healthy foods but still going over your sugar goal, don't worry about it :)

  • Edit: double post
  • I've been doing it for over a week now. I liked it when I was a kid, so it doesn't feel like exercise to me.
  • As long as you lose the weight slowly like 2-3 lbs a week, you'll be fine :)
  • I just tried the GNC lean shake vanilla bean today and it was pretty good
  • Ok, thank you. So is it ok to burn more calories in a day than you consume? For example, lets say someone eats a total of 1400 calories, but they burn off atleast 1500 with just exercise, is that dangerous?
  • I have been wondering the same thing. What if your lifting weights? Wouldn't you then be burning muscle tissue, but at the same time gaining it? Thats so confusing. Edit: Were you using 300 calories as just an example? Or do you really only eat 300 calories a day? If so, you are (most likely, everyone is different though)…
  • I'm not a lady, but I can give you a tip that really helped me. Water. Water. Water. And some more water. Every meal, drink water. Between meals, sip on water. It doesn't have to be plain water either, I use those little packets you add to water, I start my days off with a bottle of water with a packet of peach mango green…
  • I started my new life, as I like to call it, just 5 days ago. I have tried to lose weight in the past, but I wouldn't change my eating habits and I didn't like to exercise. Things are different this time though, I learned that I can still eat pretty much what I was eating before, just not as much and not as often. I have…
  • What has been motivating me is how unhealthy I was eating. I downloaded the app for my ipod and looked up how many calories I would normally eat in a day, which would consist of cereal in the morning, 2 hot pockets or something similar and a whole tony's pizza for supper. I was shocked at how many calories I would consume…
  • I just discovered this site yesterday and I already feel a night and day difference in my attitude towards health
