  • mmmm doesn't sound like good advice at all. Change your DR...and see someone who specialises in nutrition
  • hope you are feeling better now, try and take a look at your total calorie goal and break it down into several small meals a day, It will be easier to build up your calorie intake than perhaps facing 3 larger meals, A small handful of nuts, some Greek yoghurt that kind of thing, both good things to eat. Its normal when you…
  • MFP logging tool is soooooooo much better than WW and its FREE! IMO the support on the MFP boards is better too, used to be a fan of WW but not since finding MFP. It may help if you really need to pay for someone to weigh you but apart from that you get everything you need on here!
  • I logged xmas day out of curiosity. I had a small cooked breakfast, an xmas lunch and xmas pudding with lots of thick jersey cream, 2 glasses of wine and one gin and tonic, and an irish coffee and one small chocolate. I really couldnt eat anything after lunch for the rest of the day. My calorie count was roughly just under…
  • Strangely I have found the total opposite. i started on 1200 which was fine in the summer, I lost a fair few pounds very quickly then it slowed and stopped. I used to eat back any calories through exercise ( or do exercise to have extra calories for a few drinks at weekend) I have now adjusted the settings to lose only…
  • Love the idea of a challenge with like minded people, plus my birthday is near end of March and I would love to get to goal by then, so big motivation for me
  • I have found that by getting into a routine of eating at fairly regular times helped me. I have a small snack between breakfast and lunch and again between lunch and dinner. I have found eating breakfast has also helped me. I now feel slightly hungry just before meals times and full in between
  • We will make our usual roast dinner/lunch, and then have a few treats throughout the day. I will eat if I want something but in moderation. I find eating too much now makes me bloated and uncomfortable, thankfully!
  • I set mine based on a weight I could keep to easily, I found when I was 7 lighter than this weight (previously) I not only looked too thin but found it harder work to maintain it. It is now set towards the mid BMI weight .
  • Seems that northern European or Scandinavian countries have the tallest men in the world with only Holland having an average of 6'0....followed by Sweden at 5'11.5 and then Denmark at average of 5'11.1....
  • I tend not to eat after about 6pm for no other reason than my OH works nights and needs to eat and go out by 19.15pm. As I am up early I am in bed around 21.00 I dont find the need to have anything after dinner
  • 0/10 Christmas is two days, its people that turn it into a week or ten day food fest
  • I kinda agree with the above. A girl I work with is doing lighter life lite. She is the same height and same start weight as me and she started this about the time I joined MFP. She has lost about 28lbs in about 9 weeks, compared to my 16LBS yet she is drinking soups and shakes and then one small meal with restrictions, I…
  • I will log, I probably wont deny myself anything I want but I don't want to get into the trap of not logging on a daily basis. Fortunately it is just me and OH this year and as he has to work in between Xmas and new year we wont be visiting or having visitors (both our families are a long long way away) so we wont be going…
  • This hadnt been a problem for me until recently, I managed to do a little extra exercise to enjoy a little extra as treats etc, and it worked well. The past few weekends though I have found it harder. The weather has changed and is colder I am much less motivated just to go for a walk in the rain and ice, and I am finding…
  • I tend to eat my calories as food for my basic allowance and then do a bit of exercise if I know I will be wanting extra calories for something special whether its food or alcohol. I drink wine at home maybe 3 glasses on a Saturday night, but not every week, If I am going on a big night out or a wedding or similar I will…
  • I up-cycle my fave things and take my work trousers and skirts in to fit, the rest I donate to charity as soon as they don't fit!
  • Im in Warwickshire and log every day! send you a request
  • Drives me mad and the thing I hate most about shopping! I don't have time (or the inclination)to try on 3 different sizes in each shop just to find something that fits so often go home with nothing! I suppose though since losing weight my sewing machine has become my best friend and I take my most of my clothes in to fit…
  • Interesting read, will digest it all later
  • Hi and welcome, friend request sent
  • HI, I log everyday and have about the same left to lose , sent you a friend request
  • My OH works nights, he gets up, eats a dinner (main meal) takes a pack up to eat throughout the night, and eats something light when he gets in before he goes to bed. He isn't watching his weight (he doesn't need too!) but it works for him. Alternately you may find that eating several smaller meals throughout your waking…
  • Im in, have been a little slack lately so this will be just the motivation I need
  • Since doing MFP I have made a point of eating breakfast. It stops me running for bad choices at the vending machine. The few calories I would save bit not eating breakfast would be more than exceeded eating junk if I didnt. Might not work for everyone but it works for me
  • Two gorgeous staffies, soft loving and totally adorable (the boy is in my weight loss bar below
  • Hi am in the UK and log everyday feel free to add me

  • You are doing great so should feel very proud of your success so far! Just remember you are doing this for you and not them.
  • For the holidays moderation, planning and making sensible choices is everything for me. I know that Christmas is around the corner, I know what this entails so will look for lower calorie versions of my favourite Christmas foods so that I can enjoy the festivities and not feel deprived. I will manage my expectations and…
  • It is said there are a lot of things that are 'bad' for us, and unless you have a medical issue I suppose its a case of everything in moderation
