Alright. So one thing I did not expect entering the world of financials...this place is DIRTY! I'm already itching to ask my manager, Dan, if I can go in on Saturday and clean the kitchen because some of us would like to, I dunno.... USE IT! With it in it's current state... it is...uhm... :cold_sweat: :mask: Other than…

I will not be a victim of my life. I am leaving in 2 hours and then my last actual work shift is tonight. Tuesday, March 28th from 11p-7a. I MAY have to clock in for 15 minutes on my last day which is officially Thursday, March 30! I think I'll come in at like 5am so I don't actually have to see anyone other than the…

One more reason I am leaving my current place of employment right here... NO SHIFT DEFERENTIAL! I mean with NO SHIFT DEFERENTIAL they might as well just put us all on quarterly rotating shifts. I probably MIGHT have stayed if they had done that. Especially now that Chad(SSP) put in for a demotion. Not the first in this…

I got with both calorie counting and watching my macros(which has helped OODLES with workout recovery) and as far as fats go, I LOVE my fats and when someone told me not to eat avocado because it had "too much fat" I was all "You can pry avocado from my cold dead hands because that's the only way you will EVER get me to…

13 hour shift of FUNNESS over here... I need more coffee and my Lieutenant better DAMN WELL bring donuts. Or breakfast burritos...or just some fresh goddamn coffee...

Go in with a plan or a partner. I had some anxiety about going to a gym. Thinking everyone would be watching me, making fun of me, etc. Turns out, I watch people WAY more than they watch me and when I'm watching people, I am never thinking anything negative about the person. Most of the time, I'm glancing around during my…

Desperate for coffee and a BIG bottle of wine. Maybe some powdered donuts?

I've said it before, and we all agree on this: F#*K Cancer! *insert middle finger emoji here*

Exactly..story of my life. Truth be told, I'm going to miss night shift. However, I have found that I actually kind of like people...and seeing them. If only to complain about them later!

So this turned into an "in person" interview for the next day. Then I got a call on Thursday(I was hanging out with Alycia, who I haven't seen in FOREVER) and they offered me the job! AND $1.10/hr above my current pay, I get quarterly bonuses, 401k, insurance benefits, yearly raises, and I'm excited. I am waiting until the…

Must be nice... Our Night Animal Techs work 8 days straight(10 hours) and then get 6 days off. I want THAT schedule! They work Wednesday to Wednesday. I think it's beautiful. But maybe I only think I want it because I don't have it. Then again, I have worked 12 hour days for 10 days straight before and only having 2 days…

Even if you are extremely healthy by all standards, the flu can and will knock you on your *kitten*. Even healthy, young people can get the flu and develop complications. e.g. get a super high fever/get dehydrated/get pneumonia and die. A well functioning immune system will not always save you. Some people who are…

3.5 hours to go!

You're broken.... Normally don't work Wednesday nights but we had qualifications for firearms so I'm covering. They gave me Friday night off in exchange. Don't know what I'll do with a Friday night off...I haven't had one in a LOOOOOOOOOOONNNNG time....

Ashley Graham? I was there at about 180-190 pounds. I'm more of a Michelle Lewin fan myself.

Functional Threshold Power (FTP) represents your ability to sustain the highest possible power output over 45 to 60 minutes, depending on whether you're a trained athlete or not. As a result 95% of the 20 minute average power is used to determine FTP.

Well, I want to work in Bastrop, not Austin, so that makes a difference. Unfortunately, their tuition reimbursement is only for degrees in business and finance(stuff that bankers do) but I will make scholarships a priority after a couple of semesters. Now that I have a degree goal in mind, I am pushing forward and things…

This was me after vacay/surgery. Glad you're healing up @LittleMissAlx . @bethanie0825 Would have been nice if SOMEONE had informed you of how serious your mother's condition actually was. I hope she manages to get all of the rest she needs and makes a swift(and permanent) recovery. Also, I was all  at the tummy…

Oh I have a phone interview with Wells Fargo. Not my 'ideal' job but it will help me pay off debts and get back into/through school. They have tuition reimbursement, so that's nice. I keep getting told to "stick it out" and that I'll "be off nights before you know it" or "so-and-so is going to retire in January" PUH-leez.…

I have a friend in Arkansas and she said it's storming there too. She's just south of Missouri, not sure what town/city though.

THIS! Eggs are SO easy now! I love making vegetarian chili in the Instant Pot, whole chickens, chicken breasts. I can saute stuff in it, slow cook with it, use it as a rice cooker.... It is without a doubt my new FAVORITE kitchen appliance. ETA: Also, pick up line: How do you like your eggs? Response: Unfertilized.
