One more reason I am leaving my current place of employment right here... NO SHIFT DEFERENTIAL!
I mean with NO SHIFT DEFERENTIAL they might as well just put us all on quarterly rotating shifts.
I probably MIGHT have stayed if they had done that. Especially now that Chad(SSP) put in for a demotion. Not the first in this department to do that, but thanks to the hiring freeze and the fact that the chief likes him and he has won the Chancellor's Trophy Pistol Match 6 times in a row, he will likely be the first to actually get his requested demotion.
What that means is that we could date(more openly) and it wouldn't be against policy anymore because he would no longer be my supervisor.
I'm getting a CRAPLOAD of resentment from coworkers and when problems come up and I mention it they respond with "Well it's not your problem anymore."
Uhm, I still work here until Thursday. I am still on the payroll here, this campus is still my responsibility while I am here. Do not try and tell me that it is "not my problem" because it IS my problem until I turn in my badge and roll out of that gate.
I am trying not to take it personally, but it's hard when people I once liked and respected are now actually resenting me for doing better for myself when THEY WERE THE ONES WHO TOLD ME TO!

@BodyByBex simple jealousy.... They wish they had the guts to take the leap themselves. Smile, and play nice, and know you are above the petty herd.1

This weekend I've been getting random 1 and a half hrs of sleep at a time a couple times a day just because I had day stuff planned. Ugh, living on Timmies Dark Roast tonight. It will take the next few days off to recover. Hubby is back to work from 'seasonal retirement', and we have to get our schedules re-synced so we actually interact with each other in the next 8 months.
Welcome nocturnal newbies!0 -

They are just jealous that you took the initiative to change things in your life and they are stuck doing the same things over and over. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Don't take their resentment personally. Take it as a revelation of their personalities. If they had as much initiative as you, they wouldn't be working there anymore either.0 -
Yep they're jealous. Misery loves company and all that.0

I will not be a victim of my life. I am leaving in 2 hours and then my last actual work shift is tonight. Tuesday, March 28th from 11p-7a.
I MAY have to clock in for 15 minutes on my last day which is officially Thursday, March 30! I think I'll come in at like 5am so I don't actually have to see anyone other than the dayshift sergeant.3 -
I'm excited for you to start your new job.1

Have a dog in tonight overdosed on muscle relaxants. He's going to be OK but he is a little like working with Jello.0

lol. It's true!1

How the heck did he get an od of muscle relaxant? Did he break into the bathroom medicine cabinet0
-
Close. Prescribed to him. He is just a lot more sensitive to the medication than most. He'll have to go off label on the low end if he's going to continue it.0
-
why does he take it? for Anxiety? to calm him?
I just finished reading a really interesting book: Pets On the Couch by Nicholas Dodman DVM.
I never knew autistic Bull Terriers are a 'thing.'
Also Labs with Anxiety disorders.0 -
We get a lot of shepherds with anxiety disorders. This dog was taking it for urethral spasms. He can't pee when the urethra has spasms. He has been able to work through it before with relaxation but he has gotten to the point where meds are needed. Now the meds will need to be adjusted. He was placed on Prazosin. It's a smooth muscle relaxant.0

Jello dogs! That sounds like a weird party food, or maybe some type of shot.1

I had to Google 'Jello dogs', well... just because.

I work night shifts when I work during the week and 62 straight hours on the weekends.0 -
We have different shifts, different time zones, and a few insomniacs! If you're awake, you're one of us!0
