  • Update: Tried coconut aminos. Tried Bragg's Liquid Aminos. I use it for my keto stir fry with miracle rice/noodles. Bragg's Liquid Aminos taste just like soy sauce! Now we wait to see if the bloating will start...
  • Unfortunately, I think I'm going to end up tracking forever. I don't mind tracking. I've tracked religiously for years now. I have issues with portion control. I need to weigh my bacon and peanut butter. If I feel like baking, I need to count my Fathead pizza slices and low carb bread slices, otherwise I'll be eating 2000…
  • Is there a difference to brewing your own kombucha vs buying the tea at the store? Specifically Yogi brand green tea Kombucha?
  • My hubby is lower carb. I say "lower" because he is a carb junkie! He loves everything carbs. I make his lunch and dinner for him everyday and it's predominantly low carb. He doesn't track, but I would say he eats anywhere between 100g-150g carbs per day. He won't give up his McDonald's coffee with 5 creams and 5 sugars...…
  • I'm 5'3.5 and I'm eating about 1550 on average. I'm losing weight weight very slowly, recomp is more like it.
  • I have been eating keto for two years  I am currently prepping for my first bodybuilding competition. Feel free to add me.
  • @juliegayleh There are some people, like you said, who are "everything in moderation" folks and there's people who are "it's all or nothing" folks. I'm part of the "it's all or nothing" group, unfortunately. Quest bars are a trigger food for me. Same with low carb breads/sugar free cookies. I can't have just one. I have…
  • This was my dilemma a few months ago. I would eat half a pack of bacon in one day, needless to say, the calories do add up! Cook the bacon and drain the fat. Weigh out the cooked bacon and log. I use Farmer John, it's usually 50 calories per 10g of cooked/drained bacon. If you're eating the fat, I weigh that separately and…
  • @ladipoet I wish I can just not eat veggies but they're low carb and low cal and very, very filling. 1500 calories of veggies, proteins and fats are much more satiating than 1500 calories of protein and fats. I can easily put away 3000 calories on a no veggie diet :disappointed:
  • Now that I've cleaned up my diet for my figure competition in October, all I do is meal prep. I cook 5 pounds worth of chicken/salmon in one go. I have brussel sprouts, broccoli, green beans, and asparagus all on hand. Lunch = protein, veggies, tablespoon of fat (olive oil, avocado oil, butter). I have the glass Tupperware…
  • @CRZYFTM Okay that picture just made my mouth water!! I miss onion rings so much :(
  • One months progress. No cardio. Eating 1500 calories. Slow and steady.
  • @Sabine_Stroehm Wow!! Good to know im not the only one with that kind of reaction.
  • Hmm interesting. Is it the gluten in the soy sauce or the high sodium that I'm reacting to? Maybe both? I need to find the braggs liquid aminos. I tried looking today but I just found their apple cider vinegar (which I already have)
  • @AlexandraCarlyle Not every gram is 4 calories. Proteins and carbs are 4 cals/gram. Fats are 9 cals/gram. Which explains why the calories of a tablespoon of butter = 3oz of chicken breast, give or take. But as far as not counting calories, some people have success with it. Especially when they eat very little carbs. I…
  • For the past two weeks I've been having a frappuccino/shake for breakfast. Starbucks iced coffee for the base (you can find it at your local grocer in the iced coffee section), half scoop of chocolate protein powder, few drops of stevia, a tablespoon of peanut butter, and ice. Takes 3 seconds to throw together and I'm out…
  • @baconslave They add up so quickly! That could be it as well. Thank you for your reply. You're right it takes 5 days! For those following, I weighed myself this morning and I'm at an all time low weight. Yesterday and the day before, my weight was stuck at 134.8. Today I'm at 131.8. It took a total of 5 days of water…
  • @kpk54 800 calories doesn't seem like a lot, but it's the physical act of binging that is of greater importance. I eat and eat, and it's so difficult to stop. The fact that I stopped at 800 calories is a little surprising to me honestly...considering I can throw back 2000 calories in a sitting. Before, I never focused so…
  • @Freischuetz It's not until the beginning of October. I'm trying to do a slow cut, slow and steady. @JohnnyLowCarb 2 weeks?? I am definitely not overeating again. Down .8 pounds this morning. Still over by 1.5. @Sunny_Bunny_ I've read about it. I think Lyle wrote a book on that? I need to look more into it. Thank you.
  • I've been eating keto for about 2 years but I haven't tried to actively lose weight eating this way. I used keto to maintain the whole time while my exercise became nonexistent. Towards the end, I started lifting again and eating at a surplus, gaining about .5-1 pound per week.
  • How much was the dexa scan? Is the body fat calculator as accurate at the "bod pod"?
  • @RalfLott I call it... Need To Go Grocery Shopping, But Hungry Now.
  • I like them! But I can eat just about anything... and I don't have a cat lol I don't buy them anymore because each bag is $2+ and each bag contains about 6 chips :(
  • @ladipoet MUFA's means olive and avocado oil? Then I'm getting plenty  PUFA's, I am taking 4 fish oil pills daily and I eat salmon about 3x per week.
  • Peanut butter and cottage cheese :yum:
  • Have you tried pork rind cereal?? Sounds weird but so delicious! Tablespoon or two of butter, browned, add sweetener, tablespoon or two of heavy cream, and cook on low until it looks like a caramel sauce. Coat pork rinds with sauce. Refrigerate for 20 minutes. Add cinnamon and almond milk...delicious. Like Cinnamon Toast…
  • @Dragonwolf I just started incorporating more polyunsaturated fats into my diet vs saturated. All I've eaten for the past two years is 90% saturated and animal fats. Now that I'm in contest prep, I like drizzling olive oil/ avocado oil over my food vs a pat of butter on top. I think it's a visual thing for me, like I'm…
  • @Freischuetz Bulking wise, I did really well. Cutting... I hired a trainer to help me with my competition prep. He gave me my routine with lifting 5x per week and cardio every day. Needless to say my body was not responding to that. He lowered my calories, increased my cardio... I started GAINING weight. Was doing this for…
  • If you're eating at a deficit, you won't gain muscle unless you're a complete beginner.
  • Today has been super productive as far as food goes. Chicken fried rice! I used miracle rice, chicken, eggs, and broccoli. 4g net carbs. 5-6g net if using soy sauce.
