  • Thank you everyone! I am definitely eating way above maintenance. Sometimes I eat more than 3,000 calories in a day😩 breastfeeding makes me ravenous. I’m actually eating more now than when I was pregnant. I’m drinking 1-1.5 gallons of water every day. I also have PCOS and a previous breast augmentation. I went to see a…
  • I didn’t exactly follow Lean Gains protocol. I at first followed what Lyle McDonald prescribed in his Ketogenic Diet book, but like @tcunbeliever said, as carbs climbed, so did my cravings. I could literally eat 500g of carbs without blinking an eye lol kind of scary when I think about it. I changed my protocol to high…
  • Hi ladies, just wanted to keep everyone updated: I made it to week 13! I’m officially ending my first trimester. Nausea is starting to go away and that extreme fatigue I felt in the beginning is slowly going away too.
  • @Christinahengstrom Aww congrats! And you’re literally 4 weeks ahead of me  isn’t it amazing how things just miraculously happen? My mind is still blown that we’re expecting. Little update: dr decreased my progesterone dosage to once per day by week 7, and now I’m completely off any hormone support! Baby is growing…
  • @tayusuki Yes because I am fat adapted before carb cycling. It’s easy to go in and out. I also train with high intensity 5x per week with heavy weights and do moderate intensity cardio 3x per week.
  • So I started my keto journey 3 years ago because I was diagnosed with PCOS. Doctors said it was impossible for me to get pregnant because of my disorder (I don’t ovulate on my own) but I stuck with keto because I truly believed it helped balance my hormones. Here I am 3 years later, with more digging and more research…
  • @KnitOrMiss Knit thank you so much for your support over the years. I went in yesterday and saw the sack, the yolk? And the baby! We saw baby’s heartbeat on the ultrasound, it was flickering like a little star. Nurse said from the baby’s size, she’s estimating the baby is 6 weeks. I’m still in shock. This doesn’t feel real…
  • Hi ladies. I haven’t posted in a while since my last IVF failure about 2 and a half years ago... I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2014. I don’t ovulate, I don’t get a period. Haven’t had a period since the IVF. Hubby and I gave up essentially. My libido crashed and I’ve just been going through a lot emotionally. Hubby and I…
  • @tcunbeliever Yes me too. Wasn’t able to build muscle on standard keto. So cool to see how there’s so many ways to cycle carbs and different protocols work for different people!
  • @lsutigerscage Thank you! @PaulaKro Thank you so much! Yes GI means glycemic index. Now I have lower GI carbs for my high carb days, like beans or yams or brown rice. I feel WAY better eating lower GI carbs vs eating high GI carbs. It is scary... especially since I was eating standard keto for so long. But increasing carbs…
  • I’ve been keto for years and I still cannot get over the yummy taste of Quest bars. I can happily say it’s been almost 2 years since I’ve touched a quest bar. One thing that has made stay away from Quest, Atkins, and “sugar free” treats... aka ketofied Frankenfoods is taking a look at the ingredient list. Usually these…
  • July 2015. I was diagnosed with PCOS. Researched and dived head first into keto...Decided to take metformin, went off metformin, stayed keto and only took a diet break twice a year (if that) for no more than 1 day. This year I managed to drag it out to 5 days. Trying something new now... cyclical keto. About to have a 2-3…
  • Sadly this is my office culture. There’s some sort of treat in the break room every day. Every. Day. There’s no such thing as healthy here lol
  • You know you’re LCHF (and fat adapted) when being around yummy carbs don’t even phase you anymore. Office break room full of donuts, pastries, and cookies and you are thinking about more important things like weekend plans
  • @Keto_Vampire You’re super conditioned in almost all the pictures which is not easy to maintain.. good job! But can I ask why you started the PSMF? I don’t think it’s necessary since you’re already so lean. From 2013 to 2018 it looks like you might have lost some muscle even though you maintained the same weight? When you…
  • YESSSS I’ve been waiting for its release forever. Purchased it, haven’t had time to sit down and read unfortunately. Haven’t read it. I heard on his podcast that there’s some information that needs to be updated... which is why I haven’t went ahead and bought the book.
  • Thank you! Yes lifting 5 days a week. I'm exhausted. I want another break already :frowning: And yes he is still going strong on keto. So far he has lost 5 pounds and 4 cm in his midsection..he might have lost more but he didn't actually track his weight and measurements until last Monday 2/5. I am so so proud of him. Not…
  • CW: 121.6 Only 2 pounds difference.. with a diet break thrown in there. No one ever talks about feeling self conscious after losing weight. I honestly feel more insecure now than ever before. I’m obviously going for an extreme lean and unmaintanable body fat percentage by competing..but just wanted throw my pictures up to…
  • I'm not entirely sure? They ran tons of blood tests when I was going through my in vitro cycle. I do know I have a string of cysts all over my ovaries, my FSH is non existent and LH is low as well.
  • I have PCOS and eat keto. I have taken Metformin, but also quit due to side effects. I did not try the extended release version though, so maybe that could be it? I have been supplementing with Inositol and I believe this has helped tremendously. The only way for me to get a period is through medication (IVF). The last…
  • @retirehappy I’m so glad to hear that you’re going to get one done! I told my mom about our results and she wants to get one done too. She’s 55 years old and very overweight. She says maybe this is the wake up call she needs to change her diet. We’re planning to go next Monday! I’ll post her results too.
  • @anubis609 Okay so I checked out the links you posted, and the first link is stating that people can visually give you a correct body fat percentage? & how is this more accurate than a DEXA scan? Also if you see the video, we find out my husband’s body fat percentage and he clearly does not look like he has that high of a…
  • That's what I figured but found this online: https://www.dexafit.com/blog2/body-fat-measurement DXA measures not just lean tissue and fat, but bone density as well. BodPod and hydrostatic weighing only measure lean tissue and fat.... and use bone density as a constant. A 5'5, 160 pound athlete is going to have greater bone…
  • @KnitOrMiss Yes ma’am that’s me!☺️ Keto prep diaries
  • I started keto because of my PCOS diagnosis. After learning about that, I found out "hey! Maybe there's a reason why I can eat 4 bowls of Cocoa Puffs and still be hungry" lol long story short, I can eat carbs for days and it won't satiate me. Eating keto is the only way for me to sustain my hunger and not eat 3,000+…
  • Can we get our hormone levels checked with any primary care doctor? Or does it need to be with a reproductive endocrinologist? I put trying to conceive on hold at the moment, but the last time they did my bloodwork was with the ER.
  • The lowest carb yogurt I’ve found is a brand called White Mountain and it’s a whole milk Bulgarian Greek yogurt. 1 cup is 140 calories, 8g fat, 5g carb, 13g protein. It is harder to find.. I can find it in Sprouts. Other low carb yogurts that are more accessible is the Fage brand.
  • I use Nutiva brand. It’s a certified organic MCT oil and I trust the brand. Unlike other brands, they don’t use high temperatures or chemicals to make the oil... it’s expeller pressed. And as far as I know, it’s the only certified organic, non GMO, MCT oil on the market.
  • Maybe try alternating the times you work out? If I wait to train until I get out of work, I'm drained. I need to do it the mornings before work...makes all the difference to me.
  • @canadjineh I had the same problem with Quest bars. I couldn't NOT stop by during lunch time and buy a few Quest bars. The only way to stop me was to bring my lunch to work and leave my wallet at home lol can't buy anything without any money.
