Make use of the Whole9 forum, loads of great info and Whole30 support.

I'll be reintroducing in Feb and seeing what works.

If you're only on Day 5, you can always just add 5 more days and start again :)

Pesto makes a nice change from a standard dressing. You can have it chunky or smooth it down with more olive oil
-
You can make your own ketones, you don't need to buy them ;)
-
The best tip I've seen is to cook bigger. If you've got the oven on, bake a bunch of stuff, so you get more meals. When I remember to do it, it works really well :)

There's also lots of ways to boost your seratonin naturally: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/serotonin-boosters/ There's a note in there on why you might struggle if you're eating *too* low carb. If you're not a fish eater, you should take a big dose of Omega 3 and watch your Omega 6 intake.

I'm sorry I can't find the link to the study, but I read a great article on bipolar which talked about the swings. While science has been working hard to minimise impacts of the downswings, this article was about limiting upswings and that a high upswing will inevitably lead to a bad downswing. For people whose ups and…

"A man convinced against his will is of his own opinion still" I like Mark Sisson's approach, keep your mouth shut and walk the walk. People will always be interested in success, if it's demonstrated. Those that aren't, wouldn't listen anyway. Too much drama/conflict is a turn off for many people and can prejudice people…

Don't panic! It'll come back, it's just patience and time. Don't work out your legs, just let them heal normally, follow the docs advice and be gentle when you are able to use it normally again. You'll feel really silly if you hurt it more. Do some hand weights. If you're worried about gaining weight, make some diet…

Salt, potassium and magnesium. The latest Atkins book instructs you to drink broth, this will prevent leg cramps.
-
I'll be logging as opposed to counting. I'll be tracking my food intake but only weighing at start and finish.

I'm doing Whole30 in January 2013. Any Aussies out there find sugar free bacon?
-
Drink soda water when you go out, with a slice of lemon or lime, it's fizzy but still water. If you haven't tried TrueLemon (Lime, Orange, Lemonade, etc), you might want to give it a go.

If you can't get almond butter locally, just make it yourself from almonds. http://www.amazingpaleo.com/2012/07/13/how-to-make-homemade-almond-butter/

Aioli would work too :)

Blood Ketone measuring is for Nutritional Ketosis, not just ketosis (which you can use Ketostix for).
-
For the Aussies looking for coconut oil, you can get it at Coles and Woolworths (look in the health food section or near the gluten free stuff) as well as most health food stores. Melrose is a common brand and we tend to get it in large and clear glass jars (it looks white).

Yes, that's the one I got here in Australia. It looks very similar to the Precision Xtra and is also made by Abbott. For Aussies and Kiwis, the Ketone strips seem to be much cheaper here, I bought mine special order from my local Amcal chemist. If you've never done a Ketone blood test before, it needs more blood than a…

Your protein intake should be guided by your lean body mass (not your weight), some have more than others. I'd lose muscle mass on a number that low :)
-
Atkins has also had an overhaul, including the cure for leg cramps :)
-
There are some really great primal/paleo blogs with regular photos of lunch boxes, snacks and things, if you're looking for inspiration.

It goes bad faster when it's ground, so if local supply is a bit old, you may be better off grinding your own. I prefer the taste of golden flaxseed meal.

What do you have your diary macros set to?
-
and if you're still hungry but have maxed out all your allowances, have extra fat, it'll take less of a toll on your blood sugar.
-
How are you going on Induction?
-
Did you know you can change your diary settings under Goals, to lower your carb count in the MFP totals? MFP Home > Goals > Change Goals > Custom I have mine set to: 1800 calories 5% carbs 30% protein 65% fat

If you can't get spaghetti squash, Slim Pasta and other brands make some ultra low carb pasta (not Dreamfields style).
-
I never knew you were supposed to blend it lol I do however add cream to mine and I find it emulsifies the coconut oil very well (I add the coconut oil first and melt it before adding the cream). I use a long handled teaspoon in a tall cup and I just give it a stir if it's separating out. If you're after a faster coffee in…

I've used Benefibre It's not as full on as psyllium husks and for those fussy about texture, it's much more dissolving as long as you don't add it into anything fizzy  Golden Flaxseed Meal is pretty high in fibre too, as are lots of green veggies :)
