That alcohol is not your friend and you are better off without it. It has empty calories, slows your metabolism, weakens your resolve when comsuming it and the following day makes you crave calorie laden food.

A very well meaning friend of 40 years asked me how I stayed so slender. It was a compliment and we were about to sit down to a delicious meal that she had cooked. So I just said "I don't eat very much" (I don't) and left it at that. I felt that it wasn't an appropriate moment to talk about MFP etc.

What works for me is a banana and two crispbreads. About 160 calories. The combination of the banana on a sesame crispbread is quite sweet which is a treat for me as I never eat sugary treats like biscuits or cake.

There is almost nothing good to be said for getting old- there really isn't but being a very positive person I like to think sometimes of reasons why getting old isn't too bad ( it is) I smile and say to myself, "Well at least I no longer get periods". I sympathise.

Since our children have left home my husband and I have agreed to not have sugary confectionery and crisps in the house. It works really well for both of us. IF you have lost enough weight you may stop losing weight but never stop looking after your health and appearance and for many of us that means continuing to log and never stopping.
