  • I stopped counting for a year, and I gained like 25 lbs back. For me, I need the "control" of counting, or I start to slip on other aspects. I could cook the same healthy meals that I know the calorie count of in my sleep, but mentally not logging and not counting makes it much easier for me to have an extra slice of pie…
  • I'm on level 3 right now and I've gotten stronger and more fit. I burn at least 200 calories which helps with calorie deficit, which in its turn helps with weight loss. So yeah, it works
  • First of all, I think you look great! I'm also 5'5 and around 130 (weight's been all over the place since I went on holidays and didn't log nor exercise) but as an example my profile picture is the before and after results of the 6 week six pack workout and I'm a couple of pounds heavier in the after picture! I used to be…
  • I miss not knowing exaaaactly how many calories are in ice-cream/candy/chocolate/cookies/chips/all my favorite treats... Especially knowing how much of it I can (could?) eat in a single sitting
  • I'm right there with you! I got back home this Wednesday and jumped back into my healthier eating habits and exercise regime... phew, tougher than expected! But here's to getting back on the horse! Woo!
  • When I first started to log my "healthy" meals, I shuddered to see how many servings of it I was actually eating, and how easily I could down 3-4000 calories in a day and not even feel that full. Another eye-opener was when I got my food scale and started weighing things out, realizing how not every "cup" or "one medium…
  • I'm currently on level 2, aiming to do it 5-6 times a week, and running/walking as well. I'm going to take a few days off (holidays!) but will be back in business next week :)
  • I used to be in the same boat, and I had a lot of social events that I "had" to attend, which included a lot of both food and drinks. Almost weekly I went to fancy pats three course dinners with table serving and no portion control, also with drinks, beer, wine etc served at the table. I was also very lightly active,…
  • When I'm following a recipe and logging it I already weigh everything and might as well do the spices. Usually they're like 1 gram and barely any calories in the end. If I use a dash here or there when I do my own recipes I won't really bother
  • Before and after 6 week six-pack, after picture from june 18 2015 2012 vs 2015
  • If it fits your macros just do it :P If it doesn't, well, do it anyway but don't make a habit out of it ^^ Last time I splurged and had a Quarter Pounder I felt sick to my stomach, there was just too much crap in it that my body sort of... rejected it :P When I've been since I've grabbed their salads, they're.... not the…
  • Only you can get back up on that horse! What's in the past is in the past, just make healthy choices - one at a time. You might make mistake, the secret is to not let it stop you from making the next healthy choice. You just keep looking forward, and MOVING forward. You can do it!!
  • I spontaneously bought a Fitbit Charge HR yesterday and I'm looking forward to give it a real spin today and in the future  Feel free to add me! https://www.fitbit.com/user/3JVCWM
  • I'm closing in on a year of MFP, but have recently gotten more committed to exercising and getting fit! 27, Sweden. Feel free to add me, anyone
  • Enter your information under "Goals", and choose maintenance. This way you make sure that you get enough energy to fuel your workouts, and with the added exercise you might see a change in weight but most importantly in your body and measurements.
  • Hello Megan and welcome to MFP! :) I know that feeling when life has just happened, and one day you see a number on the scale that you never intended to see. The first step to change is deciding to do something, and signing up on this site so you're well on the way. The rest is up to you! For inspiration and motivation…
  • Hello and welcome to MyFitnessPal, Calvin! I've been using the app for about a year and lost 17 kilograms by mainly just counting calories! For the past couple of weeks I've been upping my exercise trying to work on getting fitter and stronger, and find that there's a very nice and supportive community here, with…
  • For me, it was my social life that made me put on weight in the first place. In college I went out for drinks at least 3 times/week, which was usually followed by junk food. It also didn't help that I never worked out, and that I drank sugary drinks and snacks daily... :smirk: Right now I've lost my extra weight and work…
  • Hey all! I'm always up for new friends and a bit of extra motivation
  • Cook what you find delicious and fits your calories, doesn't have to be more complicated than that :) Me, I cook about twice a week and divide my meals into plastic containers that I have sitting in my fridge for the entire week. This is great when you need it, and also leaves room to put a box in the freezer if you want…
  • Hey, I'm 28 and always looking for new friends (even though I LOVE avocado  ) I find that pre-logging everything really helps with binging. I meal-prep and bring breakfast, lunch and a snack to work... then I get home and also have my dinner and some more snacks already lined up and logged! :)
  • I'm eating whatever I want to, too :) Usually it's two home cooked meals a day (I keep finding yummy recipes to try out) and snacking on whatever is near, be it a chocolate bar or ice-cream, or fruits and berries ^^ I've lost 17 kilos in a year
  • I'm at 1350 at the moment, and half of my logging is in Swedish, but feel free to add me if you want to!
  • Loving this thread  I looked at a picture of myself the other day and was kind of freaked out by how big my mouth seemed haha. Granted, I was wearing lipstick (something I don't regularly) but it just seemed like my face was so small and my mouth took up so much of my face...
  • I like your attitude! Feel free to add me if you want to share your journey with me!
  • I like Jillian Michaels' videos, I'm currently doing her 6 week six-pack and I did her 30 day shred last year or so. I know some people can't really stand her, but for me it's the exact blend of motivation and hate that I need to give that little bit of extra energy :)
  • Great for you! The mentality alone will do a lot for you, but sustainable weight loss (where you'll also keep it off!) is definitely not a sprint :) You can do this!!
