Another vote to recommend the book. I'm finishing up stage 1. It helps if you have access to a gym with lots of different equipment.

I found this response on one of the posts you linked me to. I think it's brilliant. I am not a sedentary person trying to lose weight but I'm also not a super athlete. I've always enjoyed working out and I'm in relatively good shape. So really why do I really care about calories burned for an hour of yoga?? That's what I…

THis is the best thread I've ever read on MFP.

I appreciate that so much!!! I have been researching this and have a hard time finding accurate information. I want to know how many calories I burn for something like yoga but I fear that to accurately do that with any HRM, I'll probably have to spend like $350 or more. Guess I don't want to know that bad. I jsut wish…

3dogs, thank you!!

That's awesome. Mine should be here on Monday. I am so pumped!

Google 5x5 workouts. You need more strnegth training where you max out. Muscle is how you reshape your body.

AGREE!! Skinny-fat is the result of too much emphasis on cardio with a weak effort toward true muscle building. http://www.dangerouslyhardcore.com/tag/skinny-fat/

Happens to me too. Life is short. If I want a beer or 5, then I plan on enjoying it. But I don't live in sloth mode. The next day I wake up and try and do something healthy and get back on track. Nothing wrong with eating out and drinking unless you are going to beat yourself up so much that it's not even worth it. Lame.

YOu should be eating at least 1600 or 1800 calories a day and still eating back your workout calories.
-
O my gosh, you need to eat so much more. Your body will never let that weight go because it is in starvation mode.
-
You brought me to tears.

Field roast vegan sausage. This is amazing!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.fieldroast.com/products/food-service/field-roast-sausages/ In my town, I find them at Whole Foods. My husband will totally eat spaghetti and casseroles where I use this ingredient.

I notice the weight loss. Great job. For what it's worth, I think you look lovely in all your pictures :)

15 days. What a difference!!! Hustle your health!!

I would not leave. I'm not sure if you're married or just dating. That's a different story. I think when you say "I do" you say I DO to who that person is at that time. If you love them then and want to be with them at that point, that is what you committed to. My husband doesn't workout much. He's a smoker too. I hate it.…

I would think this might help. Home > Check-In > Edit previous entries

Friend me. I can help you keep it real. If you're not up for that, you might want to go back to the couch. Let's get bad *kitten*!

I'm in sister! Keeping it real and fighting the good fight everyday!

More than happy to empower you but probably won't ever call you fatty. Let me know if you're down with that :)

Yo check out my food diary. I fight cancer and stay healthy every day. Keeping it real.

You should check out some of the threads on here about the people who transitioned from an all or mostly cardio plan to an all or mostly heavy weights lifting routine. Trouble is when people lose weight, it can be muscle weight and they are still flabby. When you increase muscle, you burn more calories just resting and…

Eat when you're hungry. Stop when you're full. Listen to your body's cues not anyone's advice or a diet article's platitudes.

http://www.fatnutritionist.com/index.php/food-and-exercise-are-not-matter-and-anti-matter/ I hate to break it to everyone on this site but scientists still don't understand why some people gain weight easily and others don't, or why some people can lose weight and keep it off and other people struggle, or why two kids in…

Your hsuband is ridiculous. But sadly so are a lot of people when it comes to toys. Boys and girls both love to push things on wheels but we put baby strollers in front of girls and trucks in front of boys. Both like to play with litte figures but we call them dolls for girls and action heroes for boys. WHY do we have to…

I have a husband who smokes. My therapist says "his body, his choice." that is what you have to remember. This blog might be worth checking out. http://www.fatnutritionist.com/index.php/a-little-101-i-get-to-exist/ Do you want him telling you when and how to exercise or what to eat or what to do with your free time?…

If you worst habit is eating at night but you also work out at night, I would try and go for a high-fiber, high-protein dinner. And don't buy foods that you can't control yourself around. If they're not in the house, then it's easy to not eat them. Don't skimp on breakfast either!!! Successful people eat well-balanced…

Who are these people preparing separate meals? Are you kidding me? I'm a vegetarian and my husband is not. If he doesn't like what I'm cooking, he can make something else himself! If it's a situation with kids, maybe look into that book about how to sneak vegetables into foods. I've heard lots of good reviews.
