Welcome Mamajeans!! I'm sure you'll find plenty of inspiration and support here. There are some amazing people on MFP and we all swap suggestions and ideas at times. The motivation is a great help too I find. I can't believe I'm still logging in after more than 100 days!! I wasn't convinced I'd last a week. I've lost 12…

Hiya, If you still have swelling and you can take anti histamine tablets (used for hayfever and other allergies), take 1 of the certrizine hydrochloride version. This will reduce the swelling and open your nasal and throat cavaities properly again. If your tonsils or tongue start to swell you should go to your nearest A&E…

Hi Kimberly, I've sent you a message too. Amber xx

Hi Victoria, Thank you for sharing a bit about your situation, with us on here  You balance issues sound pretty significant, but it's great to hear you are thinking positively about what you can do to get around your obsticles. I've had chemo, but have not heard of that side effect before. I can empathise to some…

Welcome Catwoman! Sorry for the very tardy response..... but this is in fact my third attempt. My laptop and I weren't seeing eye - to - eye for a while and as a result my messages kept disappearing!! It's great to see you've found this group and I am thriilled to hear that this is what you've been looking for. Like you, I…

Hi Rensy, My situation is very different to your own but I can understand the isolation and frustration that your situation must present. I'm glad you found this group and I hope you locate others through it who have more similarity to your diagnosis. Though I do not have MS.... or any of the other conditions, I do use low…

Hiya, Thanks for your advice on this. I'm sure that my weight gain is very much connected with my inability to eat meals as far apart as my husband. He laughs and says I'm always thinking of my tummy!! I explain, that the reason I like to know what we'll eat for tea or how long he wants to wait for food ....is because I…

WOW...... You got see / hear the President??? What an amazing event and Ican only imagine how much effort it took for you to stand for so long!! Congratulations on having the confidence to step forward and join the other queue. I can only manage 10 - 15 mins on my feet, if stationary, i.e. in a queue. Well worth all that…

Hi Veggie, I'm very sorry to hear about your mother's death. How very sad and traumatic for you and your family. Chemo is horrendous and hope I never require more. I'm currently on Hormone Therapy and the side - effects are 'a doddle' in comparrison!! Even though that now means I've been in a premature and permanent…

Hi Christine, I can empathise with early menopause. Mine started at age 38 whilst under going Chemo, then 9 months later drs gave me an intentional and permanent medically induced menopause. I felt it almost immediately... within just 2-3 days of the implant being injected. I began to experience all the dreadful side -…

Isn't a wonderful feeling Angelique, when people start to see a positive difference? It makes you realise all the hard work and comitment is worth while and it's so encouraging too! Here's to the next 20 and 23lbs :-D Well done. (I can understand her temptation for homemade icecream, very well indeed!! Hope you had…

Hi Sal, Not heard this before........I shall bare this in mind. Where did you get this advice? The 2 hour thing certainly sounds familiar. I have a tendency to give in when the craving for something edible gets too strong. I get migraine and nausea when hunger gets overwhelming i.e. if I miss a meal or don't eat enough. I…

Thanks Gorger, I'll look into that, although so far I have lost 7 pounds in just over a month so pretty happy with that, considering the limitations I have with mobility. It's always good to hear of things that may help though. Many thanks for your help. xx

Hi Sal, Thanks for your reply. I don't come on my laptop regularly, so didn't see this message until just now. I usually view via my mobile so only get the basic MFP page. I've heard of Fibromyalgia before, but not seen much about what that means and actually covers. So I went on a website for people with Fibro. It's…

My word.... what a wise woman you are!!! Those are excellent tips and I can see a few things we could do with changing. My worst times are about 10.30 - 11.30 am around 4 - 6pm and 8 - 9.30pm and during the night if I wake. As you can see, there are a number of problem areas. But at home we also eat sensible food, cooked…

Hi Sal, That is sooo true!! It is very tough. Chemo is horrendous and very individual. No two people with the same cancer and same chemo type even appear to experience the same side effects. It's always a case of 'wait and see'. But the level of fatigue inmy case, kept me in bed for 10 days or more each cycle. I couldn't…

Good evening, OK..... I have a clearer picture now of what you mean. And I can see how it would be helpful. Gentle resistance. As for aqua aerobics....well I totally understand the problem with that! Back in the time before cancer, strokes and arthritis I did occasionally attend an able - bodied class at my local pool. And…

I have a great static exercise bike Veggieexcerise and as you say, they can be small. Mine has a tiny footprint area. I have a tiny cottage and there is next to no starage. I got this for my last birthday with the intention of getting fitter and loosing a bit of weight. Mine is called the 'Davina' bike. Here in England I…

How frustrating for you Rotorheadg!! All that hard work and then to find you are taking a back step  You must be pretty disappointed. I didn't know what your diagnosis was, so had a look on Wikkipeadia. It explained that Prednisalone is a corticosteroid and therefore puts weight on. I was on the same medication during…

Hi Sal, Just read your post above. That sounds like a tricky balance to meet.... Exercising and eating without causing yourself a set back by over doing things. I don't have a diagnosis of ME / CFS, but the effects of chemo, radiotherapy and medication do cause chronic fatigue for years. So I do have some understanding…

Really?? I've nver come across that exercise over the water, (here in England) It's still likely to be next year before I'm able to so to a swimming bath, because of the PICC Line, (Peripherally Inserted Central Cathater Line), in my right arm. I miss swimming and will enjoy the freedom to get immersed in the water again…
