Unforturnately, I read some of the comments on Gawker and word of warning they are not at all sympathetic to the author. Ms. Long was extremely brave in giving a voice to what so many families are experiencing, and got insulted for her trouble. I hope she doesn't see some of those comments.

I used to work as an advocate for survivors of rape and/or sexual assault. I lasted for about 1.5 yrs before I got burnt out, but i want to do it again eventually.

I don't plan to restrict myself, but I do plan to pace myself. That way I hope to eat less. If eat quickly I will eat more. I am going to consciously try to eat slower, wait before going for second helpings, etc.

I recently discovered blogilates from a post on this site about her two ingredient pancakes, which are AMAZING! Try looking through some of these recipies for ideas. You can incorporate protein powder into recipes. Quinoa, which is a grain also has some protein, but is not low in calories so be careful. Edamame also has…

I don't know if this counts, but when parents give their kids age in months once the child is over 2 years old. I don't care if your kid is 30 months, normal people call that 2 years old.

whenever I hear "at the end of the day" I always get the song from Les Mis stuck in my head

Someone telling me to "calm down" if I am upset about something will automatically have the opposite effect, it just pisses me off more. When people use popular catchphrases like "master of your domain" or "waaasssssup" I am sure there are more recent examples but I can't think of any right now. I get really upset when…

unsweetened vanilla almond milk and I also throw in some frozen strawberries instead of ice, it really thickens up the shake and makes it taste much better for just a few calories.

I also have 80lbs to lose (well 70lbs now), and I am an emotional eater. But we can get through this together! Set small goals for yourself, every day you stick the plan is a success, every pound you lose is an achievement. Reward yourself with non-food prizes, like a manicure or massage. You are not alone. We are all here…
