Thanks all. Unfortunately, I'm not living in Ames anymore, so can't get to any of the boxes there. There is only one box within 30 minutes of where we currently live, and it's the one we go to now and where the problems are. The plan now is to stick it out through the summer and re-assess after that. Any advice on how to…

I agree that it's probably not always accurate, but I like to know what my ballpark for each workout is. I have the polar loop and h7 (or h6 can't remember) heart rate monitor. The loop is more of a bracelet than a watch, so I wear it loose and can push it out of the way for movements. The loop has a website, polar flow,…

Do you still have open spots? I am getting a copy soon and was planning to start June 1st!

I'm a college student too and my family is the exact same way. I choose not to log when I'm with them, but I do keep a mental note of what I've eaten and really try to watch when I feel full. I also workout every day that I can. I go for a walk, run, do a video, play basketball with my brother, or anything else I can think…

Ladders! They're a blast and really do improve your quickness. :-)

Thanks for your responses! I might have to settle for dumbbell presses, but am curious about the Smith machine, because I LOVE bar benching :-) Thanks again!

135-145 lbs. Wherever in there I feel healthy and have a flat stomach!! I don't want to pick a number because that's just too much to maintain. A healthy 5 lb range is good, though. :-)

I throw anything from apples, carrots, clementines, 100 cal snack packs, string cheese (seems to be ok w/o refrig for 1/2 a day), and granola bars in my backpack to keep me going throughout the day (on campus 12-14 hours at a time). Sometimes (other than the cheese!), these will sit for up to a week in my bag before I get…

Biosystems and Mechanical Engineering junior! Two jobs + two majors + 5 student organizations + social life (not much of one haha) = crazy busy. Bought some cool lunch boxes last year that make sure I pack lunch (and usually dinner) to bring to campus every day (12-14 hours/day on campus is the norm!) Anyone feel free to…

Stretch. A LOT! Every chance you get. Make sure to do it right before you go to bed and right away when you get up in the morning. It will make all the difference!

Honestly? Working out is the best stress reliever I can find. Normally it's a Zumba class or some kind of group fitness, but any way that you're getting endorphines is going to make you feel better and bring the stress down. I do sometime still turn to food, but have found that my stress disappears and I feel so much…

How do you log burns? Sounds like a great way to switchup workouts!

As much as I hated it, I started telling my boyfriend. That way he could celebrate some of the milestones with me, like getting out of the 190's. He's been very supportive, and never would have guessed my weight otherwise. I like being able to tell him, cuz I know he's the one person always on my side and never one to…

ENDORPHINS! the increased energy after an awesome workout. seeing yourself go harder, farther, faster, stronger, etc. than last time!

Hang in there! I don't have much advice, just for the salty/crunchy snack, I eat pita chips and hummus. It's usually very filling and perfect for the craving for chips and dip. Rooting for ya!

Way to go! You're amazingly strong and can do this!

LW: 192.6 CW: 190.6 I'm really happy with the loss, it's just driving me nuts that I can't see and "8" in the middle of those numbers! lol I'll get it next week though! Some warm weather around here would certainly be a good motivator. It feels nowhere near summer, and I'm done with finals next week!

I'm on Day 6 and already I can do more pushups (mayb 5 or 6 at a time now!) and my cardio is a little better. The first 3 days were the worst, and I still lie on the floor after trying not to die! Push through and it's an amazing workout that will leave you feeling every individual muscle!

Not Kansas, but Iowa so still Midwest! Feel free to add
