Your weight loss goal is good to go Your muscle gain goal may struggle with age as you'll develop less testosterone now and as you age more. It's not impossible but you should have your target as no more muscle loss. You will be able to increase your strength. You're not too old. There are MFPers here much older and…

600-700 for breakfast. I do my workouts in the morning so I go carb heavy with some protein to fuel me. Then I reduce carbs for the rest of the day, keep the protein high and do about 700 calories per meal.

Hi. I'm a type 1 diabetic that needs to lose weight and I'm trying to build muscle. Anyone with diabetes please feel free to add me! Also @cgfred the hardest part about diabetes is the steep learning curve. Take a look at diabetes.co.uk , freestyle libre glucose monitor (makes life so much easier to check BG), carbs and…

Thanks for that I've been looking for a decent recipe. I substitute regular flour with almond flour.

Same as others have said. I do weight lifting first (roughly an hour) followed by 30 minutes of a decent intensity cardio (i.e. 10 miles on the stationary bike at 8-9MET) For me I want to preserve muscle whilst losing weight. I lose the weight in the kitchen not the gym :)

Yes I've got a new found confidence and do flirt a lot since I've taken control of my body. I've got a really solid relationship with my wife, I know her crushes and she knows mine (even if they're friends of ours!), we trust that the other won't pass the boundary.

Most of us here have started from a similar place - we've felt undesirable and now we're doing something about it. You get to a point where you get more confident and others start to notice you - if you haven't been noticed in a long time it's a great feeling to suddenly be desired and most flirting is reciprocated. As…

I still haven't had a single drop of alcohol throughout this whole month :)

A very small simple one - my starting weight on the inside of my wrist as a constant reminder of the journey. 20lbs to go :)

Run towards! (Nice hair)

Are you diabetic? What was high for you and what is it now? When I go from 20's down to normal range this happens to me

You look amazing!!!!!!!! Such hard work and dedication but on top of that you've found a discipline that can be applied to everything in life. Well done on graduating!

It gives me flexibility. Instead of daily goals I have a weekly average goal. If I'm planning a big weekend with friends I'll IF in the week before so I don't feel guilty when I use up the 'banked calories'. At least that's how I see it

I'll take a pic of my belly rolls in a bikini if it helps the cause.

Losing weight has allowed your current muscle mass to perform with less resistance. Think of it like a car, you've effectively taken out the back seats and unnecessary components but if you go further you'll be taking out parts you need to perform. Now you need to focus on your engine and drivetrain - increasing lean mass…

I'll come if they have 20g of protein and aren't that horrible Birthday cake flavour..

I'm going to book a holiday to Blackpool UK and wear new swimwear

@JustSomeEm I consider Facebook the closest you'll get to see a true person on the internet. They have family and friends , work colleagues etc. What they post and the company they keep says a lot about them. To consider them a friend I would meet I'd expect we would add each other on Facebook first. If the person doesn't…

I haven't formed any close friendships here but yeah after a year or two if I made a close friend I would meet up. I've met some good friends via different communities over the years and I'm still in contact with many of them. I think you can learn a lot about someone online. It's rare to catfish for over a year without…

I'm an emotional eater. Had an arguement with my wife and ate 3 chocolate bars that night! Its hard to stay on track with the stresses of the modern day. I've found excercise helps me alot - i end up thinking 'i'm not putting in all of this hard work just to sabotage it later!'. Feel free to add me. My diary is open to…

It sounds like you need to expand your support network and not rely on your families support. Here's an idea... Use your family as fuel. Achieve your goal so you can go to a family gathering as the most toned person in the room :) gotta have goals and drivers. If you need support you should also look to joining a sport…

Make yourself accountable and use this app. The only way you'll lose this battle is by giving up. You'll have highs and lows but you will seriously accomplish your goals here if you make yourself accountable and stick around :) I've lost 85lbs so far.
-
Hey, I'm pretty much exactly the same as you so if it's ok I'll add you as a friend? I was 300lbs, down to 215 and slow cutting to maximise 'noob gains' when lifting and cut fat. It's more like a recomp/cut because I can't deal with the emotional aspect of bulking until I see what my body looks like!

Slow and steady finishes the race and doesn't have to rerun it ever again 🏁 You've approached it the right way to make it's a permanent change. It's hard to have that kind of patience but that's what it takes! Well done, you look fantastic 💃

I can't perform decent lifts without some carbs to feed the muscles so I get up at 4, porridge with whey at 4.30, gym at 5 until 6.30 then a banana at 7 or 8 and last until lunchtime. If it's a particularly hard session or during winter I'll bring my lunch and dinner forwards by an hour so that first stretch of post…
