You have to think of this as a way of life not a diet vs normal eating. If there are foods you like then work them into your week. If I'm going out for pizza or beer on a Saturday I'll do more cardio weds-fri or I'll have a fasting day earlier in the week to compensate. Don't think of them as daily limits but instead aβ¦

I'll post a before and after picture at the end of every comment in order to prove my real life experience. Just like I did on the chlamydia forum a few years back. Nobody believed me until I started using pictures to back up my arguement. Just gotta make sure I upload the right photos from my phone. 1 min...

What always gets me is the difference it shows versus glasses! In the first photo you clearly brought them for your proportions , in the second it looks like you've borrowed someone else's to try on! Well done π you've slimmed down so much and it really shows.

Have you upset anyone recently?

Today I did a yoga class this morning, had an ice cream in the sun (within calorie limit) and had an hour sleep in the garden. Namaste ππ»

Thanks for the welcome everyone. It's 8.25pm here and I'm debating whether to go to bed or watch a movie ...

Hi @shimmer_glo , I'm a dad of two boys so I know how much work it is! I would advise strength training , yoga and a bit of cardio. Your goal is to lose weight and all that is down to nutrition, the other things help but when taken with a different mindset (think about them as hobbies for life, not chores) you'll find theyβ¦

Did you do strength training and cardio? What was your main strategy? What is your end goal weight and body composition? Great progress! You should be proud :)

This looks like my kinda group! I'm also not interested in public challenges, when I challenge myself I hold myself accountable and don't feel the need to post my progress! I just like to chat to other people, offer support and make some friends. So - I'm Andy, 34 from the UK. I've got 15lb more to lose and I've lost aβ¦

Great reply @gmc685 ! I can only build on what has been said. It's great that you've made that decision now do not be so self conscious that you give up or don't go - everyone in the weights room is worrying about one thing - themselves. Don't worry if you're only lifting the bar on it's own. That's very common in my gymβ¦

I've found that too. Someone actually said to me in work 'you've got a real presence and positive vibe when you walk in the room'. Best compliment I've ever had in my life!

I found hip bones for the first time in my life! And my wife is getting fed up of me taking up the mirror when she's trying to get ready π

I've just opened my diary to friends. I'm not very consistent at logging because I've been doing it for years so i often log breakfast and maybe lunch then I know what I'm planning for later and don't need to log it. Laziness :) Full days are when I'm not sure on my macros - generally training days.
-
@Iffiormana A before and after.

Looking at pictures of me at my biggest helps spur me on. I have a really shameful one on the fridge so I can't snack without seeing the eventual consequences. Now I have treats but I plan them in to my day. I don't have any unplanned food :)

I've lost 80lbs and everything is lean except my lower tummy. It's massively improved but I'll always have the stretch marks and it just feels a little podgy - the only reason I've managed to 'fill out' my skin though is by weight training. I see lots of skinny flabby people just doing cardio at my gym but it's rare to seeβ¦

Hi. Weight training and sprinting here. Feel free to add me, I'm from the midlands.

First thing in the morning, scale on the same piece of floor. Butt naked and after a wee. Every single day I do this to see fluctuations. I don't live by the number I get so I don't mind if I go up. Trust in the process :)

Go to Reddit.com/r/fitness and check out the wiki there on lifting programmes. It's really comprehensive and lays out beginners through to experts. You'll start to understand the terminology like PPL, SL5x5, 5/3/1 etc. Once you delve into the resources available you'll feel more confident starting a programme on your own.β¦
