Hugs you gently. As I look at your picture I have a feeling your depression is a bigger problem than your body size. I'm sure you feel huge and ugly and desperate but I wonder if that will change with a change in your brain chemistry. Have you seen a doctor for your depression yet? Please tell someone you are feeling…

That's exactly the theme of this book, what did you think of yours? Did you read it all the way through? Would you reccomend it?

Me too. But I found a gym with a free trainer (Planet Fitness) and I'm slowly learning the equipment and gaining faith in myself.

Second hand stores often have dumbells and those mini trampolines in the "back" of the store. I found a gym that's only 10 bucks a month nearby, it's called "Planet Fitness". Ebay is my friend for books (the Biggest Loser books are pretty cheap there). Vuse is my friend for videos (free).

I get motivation from the Biggest Loser episodes on Hulu. It's 7.99 for a month of premium that lets you watch all the back episodes. I got the Biggest Loser Family Cookbook from ebay for 5.00 and started all our family shopping from recipes from it two weeks ago. I was worried it would cost too much but it was only 50.00…

I completely understand you. I'm bipolar and when I'm depressed I have the most hateful thoughts and I can't understand why I ever thought any other way, it seems so clear to me that this is the only reality that matters and I'm doomed. Then when I'm manic those thoughts are so far away it's like I'm another person with as…

Day 1 completed, a day late and I didnt want to work out but I pushed myself through it with some modified movements. Yay me!

I spent 7 months working my *kitten* off in a too expensive gym with a hard driving trainer and lost a grand total of 10 lbs, and gained back 20. I've been watching my calories (a thing I never wanted to do before) and eating so much better for 2 weeks... and lost 5 lbs. I did everything wrong working out... I over ate my…

Vitamins are bound together with different things, sometimes people are sensative to those bindings. My Mother cant take Centrum because it makes her sick to her stomach and I avoid vitamins bound with yeast because I'm sensative to it. Also, vitamins on an empty stomach make me ill, especially fish oil.

I love sweet potato fries with BBQ Pork.

You're 2.5 weeks ahead, remember that part. You havent really taken any steps backward at all. You just stopped moving forward. The very next step you take is forward movement again. I'm a binge eater too. Cake mix. I cant buy it or I'll eat it, in the worst possible way at the worst possible time... late night, alone, in…

I had to find water I LIKED to drink. I like the zero calorie sparkling water you can get generically at supermarkets. I get mine at Alberstons (west coast) and Walmart. I drink one a day, sipping on it all day instead of soda. That's 4 cups out of a 32 oz bottle right there. Then I have a refilable bottle that holds 16 oz…

I say "Good on ya" but not in a sarcastic way. Honestly, if they need that one moment of validation does it really hurt you in any way to give it? Some people just dont know how to interact with other people well and that one-upsmanship is their best conversation. I feel better about myself when I see that kind of…

I'm in too. I just started at a gym but I have the dvd and I'll try to keep up too.

When I lost my job at the same time I quit smoking I was very depressed and gained a lot of weight. My aha moment was hitting 300lbs. I'd gained 60 freaking pounds and I was overweight to begin with. Now I'm on the right medications and I'm not as depressed, the sun is shining and I'm feeling good walking to the gym.

I'm back again too but I dont need to lose 10 lbs...I need to lose 100lbs plus. I started here last year too, and let everything get in the way and I'm just now coming back with a new determination. I hear those last 10 lbs are the hardest, and I'm feeling like they must be as hard as my first 10 because it seems so…

I like an over the counter sleeping pill for my occassional bouts of insomnia. It's not strong enough to force sleep but if I lay down and force myself to relax it helps me drift off and helps me fall back asleep when I wake up later in the night. I hate to say it because I'm bipolar and like many I tend to see my own…

Full range of motion was hard for me. I'm over 40, over 300 lbs, and felt brittle as an old christmas tree. Every joint popped and groaned and I had to modify the hell out of every move. I'm a little afraid to do the jumping jacks so I just jogged/marched in place. Getting up and down off the floor is hard. I did push ups…

OK I found the 30 day shred and I'm gonna give it a try right now. -takes a deep breath- Any minute now... Honest... OK here I go...

OOh I have the same problem, my husband insists on pop, cookies and ice cream almost every day and if it's here I'll eat it. I just dont buy it but he either comes home with it or whines about it all night.

malvakai is from malvacaea, latin for the genus of the mallow family of herbs and flowers, specifically the marshmallow plant

Good luck Aislynne! Being off meds feels really good for me for a little while, then I snap back into terrible swings of mood and behavior. For me, control comes from the meds. I love that you want to run with your 3 year old.

Do you ever treat yourself? It sounds like you've earned something nice for yourself for all that hard work and dedication!

I'm bipolar too and the depression is very hard to deal with when it comes to emotional eating. When I'm depressed I want to eat more and I want to eat cheap sugary foods. My worst is cake mix... just the mix, it never makes it to cake. More commonly it's instant mashed potatoes, not much better for blood sugar spikes and…

I'm on generic welburtin and while it hasnt prevented me from gaining weight, I've been on it for years and it may be that my body is used to it.
