Most of the time people are not trying to be hurtful, they just are. My grandma" you know, there is a difference between being tall and being tall and fat" (I was in 4th grade). My cousin: "I don't need to lose weight because I like myself." (WTF) Hubby: "Another failed diet." (I have a serious weight problem that I have…

Today is day 6 of level one. I use some 2lb weighted balls that I got with a pilates kit. :) I even convinced DH to do level one last night. It constantly amazes me how something can be easy and hard at the same time. :) I was one of the lucky ones that did not lose power so I was still able to work out even when I…

Wow. Everyone seems a little testy. Is it lunch time or something? I think that diets are considered low-carb if they have less than 80g of carbohydrates per day (if memory serves me). I did try Southbeach a few years back and it taught me that refined carbs were not my friend. It helped me realize that when I ate them…

Usually I have a smoothie. This morning's was strawberry, blueberry, banana, flaxmeal, unsweetened coconut, cocoa powder, raw walnuts, pulpy orange juice, and almond milk. When I have to get out the door extra early I make overnight oats with banana and blueberries with a little pom juice and unsalted sunflower seeds and…

Just be careful. If you notice an ammonia smell or severely bad breath (like something died) go to the doctor immediately.

I am vegan but not raw...just be careful because some foods (like mushrooms) are toxic if eaten uncooked. Also I am definately in the eat too much grain/ nuts category. I love me creamy dressings :)

I am the same way. I once had a friend say that I looked like an egg on stilts (probably because most of my weight is at the belly/hips and I have smaller legs and arms (or as one friend said, "skinny fat girl arms").

Hormones can have an effect on a woman's ability to lose/maintain weight. It is one of the reasons that women (initially) have a more difficult time losing then men (it evens out over time). If you look at the information you get with your BC you will see that weight gain/ loss are side effects.

"Starvation mode" is your body's way of protecting itself from famine. Your body needs glucose in order to preform cellular metabolism. Also the main reason that people that severely restrict their calories feel mentally sluggish is that about 80% of your energy needs are to your brain. Oh, and you don't burn fat in…

Don't give up. It most likely is water weight like others have mentioned. I weight myself daily and can gain/ lose 5 pounds or more from day to day. For me a big part of it is just remembering to stay the course and making sure that I am trying to get enough water and avoiding sodium. Feel free to add me as a friend. :)

Exactly. I did WW points and pointsplus and I have to admit that a lot of days I ate most of my points in WW ice cream bars. They tell their members that it is okay to eat junk just eat less of it. I think it is much easier to gauge how healthy your diet is using MFP. As far as exercise goes, I think the reason that WW…

Good so far. It was a challenge when our stove broke on Monday but I made it through without fast food.

I'm in. 75 miles and 900 minutes of yoga by October 20th.

I want to fit in to a size 9/ medium so that my teenage niece and I can go shopping in the same stores. :)

Yep. Like a lot of other people I weigh myself first thing in the morning (after I've gone to the bathroom and brushed my teeth, of course). I have issues with water retention, so this time of day is when I always weight the least.

I think that most women wish that they had your problem. I am not sure of any ecercises that will shrink them, but I think that working your pecs will make the ladies perky.

On Saturdays I like to make a Tuscan Tofu Scramble...basically scallions, red bell pepper, 1/2 onion, garlic, firm tofu, a little seasoning blend (lately mrs dash herb something), spinach and a little soy sauce and it is grubbin. :)

Have you tried sneaking greens into smoothies or burgers? I usually throw at least one or two handfuls of spinach into my smoothies and can not even taste it. I also had a recipe once upon a time that had veggies shredded into turkey burgers that was pretty good...back in the day.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but there is a blog that my husband found a while ago called budget bytes http://budgetbytes.blogspot.com. That has recipes with cost breakdown. I also agree that farmers markets are a good way to go. I am not sure how late the markets are open in your area. Where I used to live…

Sounds great.

salt+alcohol= water retention. Sorry. I, too, have large weight fluctuations (8 lbs overnight is not uncommon). You just need to remember to get extra water in between the shots ;)

I think it depends on the person. Do you eat right before you go to bed? If not I don't think it should be a problem.

I feel like I am a little late to the party but here is my two cents. I first saw the movie about a year ago and immediately wanted to become a vegan. I was talked out of it by my (mostly) vegetarian husband so I became a vegetarian. At the end of July I saw the movie again and decided I was going to do it for real this…

I just started but I don't have much in the way of diaries. I follow a nutritarian/ eat to live diet (most days). You are free to look at what I have, though. :)

Meat. I became a vegetarian about a year ago and the sight of most meat (even in commercials) makes me nauseous.

Oh, yeah. I can eat a whole container of hummus that way. I try not to. :)

Most of the E2L recipes are delish...I will have to try this one next.
