I have been veg for long enough so I have a few go to recipes. I make a sweet potato dish with candied pecans, mashed potatoes, vegan green bean casserole, and a cranberry stuffing. They all go pretty fast. I found all the recipes online.

This. ^^ Also, I find that going to classes help me get to the point where I want to go to the gym from where I have to go to the gym (having fun, making friends and all that).

Wow. I am kinda surprised you are getting so much push back. My family is used to me being weird so they all act like they think it is just a phase that I am going through. (sigh) Last Easter my sister actually asked me if I could just not be vegan for one day. I too spend hours cooking for special occasions and have…

I always keep a couple bananas in the freezer for such an occasion. 2 frozen bananas+dates (3 or so, pitted)+cocoa powder+ unsweetened almond milk. Blend. It's almost like chocolate ice cream

Xperience Fitness in Woodbury. We have Zumba six days a week (and twice on friday!).

Same here. My sugar is over with the morning smoothie. I just laugh and carry on with my day. The only thing that I really pay attention to is calcium.

You should definitely go for the training as soon as you find one in your area. "What the mind believes, the body achieves"

If I were to move to another country it would be India. I have family there.

Are you weighing yourself at the same time every day? Your weight varies during certain times of the day. Also, it can vary from day to day. Try weighing yourself weekly (say every Friday) and the results should be more regular. I weigh myself daily but have been doing this long enough not to freak out when the scale says…

For the most part, for me anyway, it is not how much I eat but what I eat. If I eat a bunch of junk then I feel cruddy, but when I eat lots of nummy produce I feel more energetic. I just try to watch out for processed junk because who knows what all that stuff they throw in there is (I once googled an ingredient that I had…

I do not separate my cardio and weight lifting sessions. I was advised to do cardio every day because I am REALLY FAT. It is possible that people would be exausted after doing an extended cardio session before lifting or that they wouldn't push themselves as much if they knew they still had time on the treadmill to look…

Hi all! I hail from the south metro (Hastings, SSP, Cottage Grove, Inver Grove Heights, Bloomington, Oakdale). I am currently an expat Minnesotan living near DC. I can't wait to come home for the holidays!

I plan my meals, but sometimes I get lazy and don't end up making what I planned. Few places do rainchecks anymore (usually they have some not that says *while supplies last). I usually only get stuff that I know I will use on sale (especially produce).

I weigh daily. I try not to get obsessive about it. I have tried the once weekly weighing and I would "forget" a lot. I track my weight on fridays (or "low" days).

Um, what exactly is "clean eating"? I see it mentioned a lot. I am definitely in.

I have about 150 lbs to lose. Currently I am going the 30 day shred (Jillian Michaels) as well as pop pilates and (mostly) daily walks. In the past I have done P90X. Depending on your current fitness level it might be a little much. I know for me certain exercises are very difficult (Can't do them). The workouts have…

I actually get more protein in my diet since becoming vegan than I did when I ate meat.
-
There are lots. PPK is good. I also like fatfreevegan and happy herbivore and ohsheglows.
-
I started my morning with 30 day shred, then I did the pop pilates thing (calandar), then I went to the gym and lifted for a couple hours. Tonight I am making my hubby come walking with me.

Coconut oil is very good for you. It is one of the few kinds of oils that doesn't denature (break down) when it is heated. It is also one of the few non-animal sources of saturated fat and is super-yummy! Some people lose weight with the addition of oil if they were eating super-low fat before. Just remember to account for…
