    I love red wine and usually have a bottle on the weekend. Brandy or whiskey if I have some in the house or on special occasions. Everything in moderation I say :)

    I switched to Captain Morgan spiced rum w/diet coke. 60 calories per shot. The occasional Happy Hour is saved!

    We shouldn't speak of alcohol on a fitness site. You can't lose weight while drinking alcohol. Don't allow yourselves to do it, people. Just don't.

    So happy to find this thread!!!

    As my weight has gone down, my social life has gone up...and now I drink a bunch. Previously, a bottle of alcohol would last me a year. Now it lasts me a week!

    My go to drink for being calorie conscious is gin and soda water with lemon, or sometimes a splash of pineapple juice. Its about 75 calories a drink, three or four on a weekend night and I am feeling wonderful.

    But yes, the hardest part is after drinking not ending up at fast foods. I honestly woke up in bed next to an empty super nacho tray and was so depressed. (Thought it could have been worse lol)

    Lots of people lose weight and continue to moderately drink alcohol. The biggest problem, IMO, is how you may eat and drink more than you should if you are under the influence of alcohol.

    That said, I'm not a big drinker but tonight I've allocated calories for celebratory prosecco!
