I eat Alexia Crinkle Cut Sweet Potato Fries that I always bake in the toaster oven and they come out surprisingly crisp and delicious, like they were just fried. And 30 of them for only 145 or so calories is more than worth it.

Better n' Peanut Butter. 100 cals for 2 tbsp. It's delicious with some grape or strawberry jelly on a piece of toast.

I usually just always go with the salads when I eat out, trying to avoid creamy dressings. My friends and I like to go the diner, and I always order turkey burgers on wheat buns with lettuce, onion and ketchup. Eating only half for dinner and saving the rest for a lunch or dinner meal a day or two after is a great way to…

Agreed. I discovered turkey pepperoni because of someone's diary! I'm also curious as to see how other people eat and manage their calories.

I'm in love with the Cinnamon Roast Almonds. Cinnamon apparently does wonders for weight loss, and almonds are just delicious in general. It's best of both worlds.

I always drink vodka and diet coke when I go out. It's the lowest calorie drink I think you can get and it tastes okay. It's not my favorite drink, but it does the trick.

Candy! Starbursts, Sour Patch Kids, Gobstoppers... I'll never give them up. I need my sweets. Chocolate. Love my chocolate. I just don't eat it very often anymore.

Your diary is actually private.

People worry about those frozen meals because they contain a lot of sodium, but as long as you drink a bunch of water, you'll be fine.

Wait, what the hell is wrong with tea?

I've been eating whole grains for as long as I can remember. I was raised on Wonder bread, unfortunately, and like a lot of people, I was afraid to switch over at first. But once I did, now I eat whole grains as much as possible.

This is awesome, but I need things converted to... well, things I know. Like fahrenheit. :)

I'd like to point out that over half the adults in that documentary talking about how people and children are obese are fat themselves. Uh.
-
Way to go! You look absolutely terrific!

I think she's talking about her actual stomach, not her tummy.

Whenever we order Chinese food, I always go for broccoli in garlic sauce (about a cup) and some steamed white rice (about a half a cup). I'm usually perfectly satisfied by that and the calorie count on it isn't out of control.

Maybe your abs just aren't used to being worked out like that? I know when I've gone jogging or something, I've gotten charlie horse's in my calves pretty badly if I haven't stretched out or run in awhile.

Thank you to everyone who expressed concern and offered up some advice. It's much appreciated. :)

Reading everyone's responses to me has kinda made me think that there could be a serious issue developing. I honestly DO want to start eating more, but the thought scares me. I'm afraid of gaining the weight and as of right now, it feels like my only means of making sure i don't is to eat as little as possible. As for…

I think I've made my food diary public. I just wanted to see if a few people could check it out and explain how with the food I eat, I could be in danger of starvation mode. I totally realize I'm not eating properly. I'm not eating tons of fresh veggies and drinking glasses and glasses of water. I'm actually eating a…

I still don't understand how 1,200 calories can feel like deprivation. Interesting article nonetheless, though.

Yea, I just tried that. According to MY calculations, it's only 122 calories per serving. That seems a little impossible, but I guess I'll just count it as 200 calories and call it a day.

I haven't been drinking since I started trying to eat better, but I did the other night for the first time. I had told myself I would only drink vodka and it would be limited to only 2 or 3 drinks. I ended up drinking at least 7 or 8 drinks and had quite a good time. Heh. The calories fit well within my daily limit,…

Good for you, man! That's a major accomplishment.

Yea, I do appreciate the concern, but I don't believe I've reached eating disorder levels yet. I've always enjoyed food and, at times, have had an unhealthy relationship with it. When I was younger, it was overeating. Now that I've gotten older and am able to make my own choices about the foods that I eat, it's turned into…

You're totally right that without the necessary fuel to keep my body going, it'll begin to use my muscle mass. I've always been a relatively smaller guy and not athletic at that, so muscle mass is something I have in short supply. I love PB&J and I know that's definitely a healthy option for me, but the fact that it's 600…

Thanks, everyone, for the advice. With missing out on breakfast, I guess I'm going to have to make lunch and dinner hit about 500 calories each. That seems extremely difficult but I'll give it a shot. :)

My only thing is, if I was effectively starving myself, wouldn't I feel ... hungry? I'll have occasional hunger pangs, sure, but for the most part I satiate them. I'm usually the most hungry in the middle of the night, around 1:30 or 2AM, and I'll treat myself to a bowl of cereal. It's just hard to comprehend how I could…
