  • I gained 75lbs....that was such a daunting number for me as well. One day I decided the pity party had to stop & get to crackin'. I did like @jemhh & continued to plug away even when I felt like giving up. I am now down 40lbs & have lost a LOT of inches. I actually look smaller than what I weigh & I am OK with that. ;-)…
  • ^^^ All of this 100%!
  • Make it a full 7 days, then they magically appear!
  • 6.4lbs in 10 days is a LOT. Be patient with your body. Are you exercising? How is your sugar intake? I would suggest not weighing yourself for several weeks. I have found that weighing myself often discourages me more. I have lost a total of 40lbs but in the last 2 months I haven't lost any weight on the scale. I'm not…
  • I have to laugh at some of the people who get so caught up in the semantics of my post. If you know you are consuming a little too much refined sugars, sodas, pastries, & junk AND you want to cut back - add me as a friend so we can be in this together. It's that simple. Thanks to those who shared their stories…
  • I hate that too! Especially when you have supported them through something in their life in the past. Unfortunately, you can't control or change other...only yourself. Now is the time for you to get smoking hot for that wedding, girl!
  • I understand what you mean. Weight & weight loss are very sensitive topics, especially to people like me. My husband used to smirk (& laugh) at me when I would talk about losing weight, so I stopped talking about it. Now, I am down 41lbs....I don't get anymore snark from him! Add me as a friend & get your fitness on! :-)
  • ^^ All of this!! My husband has never been supportive of my weight loss journey. When we started dating I was a size 8, I ballooned to a size 16/18. He never complained about my weight gain but when I started making changes to get back to a healthier me, he became very negative. I've lost 41lbs & not once has my husband…
  • @besee_2000 LOL!!! I know what you mean! The last time I quit sodas (I didn't have sodas for over a year & a half) I felt so good & very energized....then I got sucked back in by delicious Coca Cola! So yeah, I need to leave the soda alone! ;-)
  • @mydream2befit Add me as a friend! So we can do this! Like you if I moderate, I will just continue with the status quo & drink up all the sodas.
  • @lorindaleigh @mydream2befit Add me as a friend so we can do this!!!
  • I know you can't quit sugars all together....all I want is some partners in quitting the excessive sugars. So if anyone wants to join me in quitting excessive sugars such as the type in sodas, pastries & what have you....please join me!
  • I agree with the above. The holiday season always has a way of making people all over the place. Start getting your plan together now (how many days you plan on working out, for how long, meal ideas, etc.) so that you know exactly where to start.
  • I need to quit sodas, they are so bad for you health wise. I need some sugar quitters with me! LOL!
  • Girl, don't tell anyone about your weight-loss goals. JUST DO IT!! Start today & don't look back. You will show those haters that you can do exercise & eat right (I never use the term "diet"). Show them & don't look back!
  • (((Hugs))) I think in your case staying self aware (as you are now) will help you the most. Log EVERYTHING you eat, even the bad stuff. For me, seeing the "bad stuff" in black & white deters me a bit from repeating it.
  • OMG, yes I struggled with this too! Then it hit me one day that everyone has to start somewhere. So I stopped being so down on myself & just started doing exercise. Now, I actually like exercise! ;-)
  • I'm a mom to a 4 year old girl & also went through a bout of horrible depression, so I understand the struggle! Add me as a friend...I "like" posts & also reply to statuses & PMs. We can encourage each other!
  • Add me! I enjoy cooking & cook with fresh food as much as possible. I do order out when at work sometimes but I try to make healthier choices when I do. :-)
  • This coming weekend, I am going to start culling everything that is in my larger size. It no longer fits & I see no reason to keep it. I still have some pieces of clothing that I kept over the years that doesn't fit me, but they are in smaller sizes so I am keeping them. As for this winter, I had to buy new clothes. Last…
  • I just wanted to say....YOU GO, GIRL!!! You look fabulous!
  • Add me if you want! 38 years old & a mom to a little 4 year old girl. :-)
  • All of this! I haven't lost any weight (according to the scale) in over a month. However, I am still losing inches because I am fitting clothes that I couldn't fit before. I have left the scale alone...now I worry about the inches.
  • My turning point happened when it hit me how incredibly depressed I was. I was drinking at night a lot in an attempt to numb myself down. With that drinking came the empty calories & within a couple of years, I had gained 80lbs!! When I accepted that I was depressed and had an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, that's…
  • So true! Just keep at it. People didn't notice my weight loss until I had lost around 25 lbs. Just keep at it, you are doing great!
  • My own husband doesn't know exactly how much I weigh. It's a huge source of shame for me since I ballooned & gained almost 80lbs. But I have no problem talking about what size clothes I am wearing though! I have gone down from a (squeezing) size 16 and am now wearing a size 12. So, when I talk about my weight I talk about…
  • All of this!! Keep at it & measure yourself again a month later.
  • I recently treated myself to new underwear, mine were falling off of me. Haircuts & new hair styles are a great way to reward yourself too!
  • This weekend my goal is to get the maximum caloric burn, so that means getting in some extra classes at the gym. On Saturday, I am doing my water jogging class & spinning. On Sunday, I am doing my Body Pump class & my aquatic boot camp class. Yeah!!
  • OP, I would suggest you buy yourself a heart rate monitor...the kind with a chest strap. That will give you an accurate assessment of how many calories you are burning. I got a nice one from Amazon (this is the one I have:…
