Grew up in a diabetic family and vowed to always control what I eat so I would never have to stick a needle in to my stomach to live. Ended up living most of my life in an anorexic state, my fear of needles is so bad. At one point, something in my body changed and I began to gain some healthy weight. Felt better, clothes…

I'm having the same issue. Tonight, I have 650 calories to use up, on a day without exercise, out of a total of 1200 calories. But also refuse to eat if I'm not hungry. You'd think I'd wither away at this point but the weight is coming off slowly so far!

My doctor told me I could safely lose 1 to 2 pounds a week. MFP has me losing .6 lbs. per week. Not sure how accurate it is but it's keeping me accountable for what I am eating.

Forgot to add in that I've been under my calorie goals every night as well but won't use them all up if I'm not hungry. But we go to the gym at night, after dinner, so I'm usually bit hungry and need something before bed.

The nurse I am seeing to help me with weight management has me eating melba toast (4) with light cream cheese or Cheerios with Fibre 1 sprinkled on top and 1% milk, before bed. High in fibre and protein and I don't wake up hungry. Works so far.

Welcome! I'm new as well and came here because my PCN nurse recommended this site. Hoping to lose 13 to 18 pounds by Christmas.

A bit discouraging but good to know. Thank you!

Thanks for your replies. Helpful to know that the allowed calories is a normal range.

You can add me in. I'm new here and stand exactly 5'0" tall. My goal is to lose 16 pounds. So far, I've lost 2 but just started and not sure what to expect. I didn't know it was harder to lose weight at a shorter stature. Why?
