I do LOTS of chalk coloring on the sidewalk. Am so going to borrow this idea for one of the bare-squares and see if I get any takers! (Lots little school kids walk by)

Weather still too cold and don't feel like slipping-n-sliding all over the place...so been doing elliptical (vs any stationary bike.) 18 miles. Not counting towards bike miles cuz biking to me means just that. Cold temps allows my LBS to replace key components. And allowed me to make scratch Monkey Bread.

Welcome back to Round 2! I'm right there with you in age and rescues! I've found that if I really target macros its much more easier to shed a pound or two but it sure does take a long time to get it done! I also target a higher fiber base (shooting for 21gm a day). Do you like to ride a bike and/or walk? I do both. Toss…

I have seriously bonked more times than i wished! Something about the southern heat and humidity. OJ at the convenience store or a cold can of V8 has helped in these cases. (Sometimes I just need it to get the last 3 miles to home!)

183 mi total to date. (just checking in). Gotta kick it up a notch if want to get it all in. Summers lap swim more than ride!

Kickboxing is a fun sport and a fun workout. Awesome for you :)

Many moons ago, I only liked full sugar fountain sodas. 7-11 here I come! So, before MFP (hehe), I wanted to lose a few belly fat and did half diet, half sugar on the fountain. then it was mostly diet with a little "blip" on the sugar soda to add to my cup. then pretty soon, braved it and did full diet. Now, I don't hardly…

Somebody sent (?) a Strava request? From this group? Anywhoo,,, I accidently punched sweaty fingers onto the slippery phone screen trying to answer a phone call, in the glaring sunshine, and somehow messed it all up, whatever was sent. :)

I shall join, too. Thanks for the invite. Am at a little under 62 miles for the start. My goal is a tad different, would like to meet or beat my overall highest miles on an old Raleigh bike, catch up on the odometer so to speak.

Ok so I read this in a sing-songy voice hahaha. Cracked me up.
-
Soooo, what kind of bike did you end up getting??

Healing is soooo important. Don't screw it up by going against medical directions. Still have stitches? Don't mess it up. Take the time to binge watch all your fav shows, play around on laptop, gaming, read. Surf the Net for good recipes. Paint. Elevation and ice is your friend especially on foot surgery

I had the free app forever...practically since its invention. Because I'm super frugal. Well shoot. Just cheap. I'm cheap! Went to paid app several months ago firstly because of (1) ads...so SICK of the ads. But, amazingly, I find myself tracking and *key* paying attention to the macros A LOT closer than before thru the…

I think you get more crunchy bang for your buck if you can find tree-ripened apples directly at the farm. I was lucky to nab a huge box of tree-ripened apples and the taste/crunch/sweetness couldn't be rivaled by any 6-10 month storage-bin apple!

I eat an insane amount of veggies starting with breakfast. Roasted/cast iron/steamed, you name it. Sometimes I'll get em all cooked up and zap em in the Vitamix for a nice soup. I also grow Ponderosa lemons. Baby those giant tart girls like a momma bear till just perfect for harvest! Ugli fruit is my winter love <3 sooo…

Newest mini goal of mine is to have a little more wiggle room on the next flight whilst sitting in those little teeny tiny airplane seats. :D
-
Yay for hitting your goal! :)

You look great and also good job on all your exercises/running, too.

This is a great thread. I find plain frozen veggies/fruit a lot cheaper than fresh plus they don't go bad as fast. Probably the biggest money saver for a food budget is to eat at home vs out. I never could understand how people could spend their money eating fast food/lunch out every day. I always brought my lunch. lol I…

Just a quick peak at your diary..bounced around to get a general feel for your nutrition.. ....your protein levels are waaay down. I would up your protein level right off the bat. And get more nutrients from actual food for your carbs such as vegetables/fruits (vs sodas & juices). You could be feeling more hungry because…

Suggest, in addition to above suggestions, get some supplements that help with long-haul covid symptoms. I've known several long-haulers and their supplements have been extremely beneficial in their healing and well-being. Energy levels came right back. the "cement legs" went away. Out-of-breath disappeared. (Unless, of…

If you consistently weigh your nutrition intake and log it all, that alone can be motivating. I find myself cutting back in one area to offset eating/drinks out at restaurants. Am not much into gym either, but do enjoy cycling, swimming, walking, hiking that sort of activity.

If you are feeling cold (anemia) I suggest a heating pad or better yet, an electric blanket, to keep over you whilst couch surfing Netflix/Hallmark. It helps. oh, and you should really feel the energy kick in about the 3-mo post recovery date.

Fiber. Lots n lots of fiber every day. I get em from frozen berries and also butternut squash & other frozen veggies. Fish every day. And every day at lunch I like 2 tea bags of tea/honey/splenda. Its warm, its tasty, its satisfying. And potatoes.

I've ate sandwiches in the morning when I was dashing out the door. They hold nicely in a baggy whilst driving hehe. A grilled cheese in the George Foreman Griller has gotten me all the way thru lunch on more than one occasion. Its hot, its melty, and its tasty.
