I have a love hate relationship with my step mill. It kicks my butt, but I'm loving the results. try interval training.

Do intervals. Then i also do a few variations to keep it interesting. Like walking back wards, side ways, leg extensions, etc. get creative. Also try to go longer than 20 minutes. even if that means reducing your intensity. but what really gets my butt/thighs is doing dead lifts.

Are you sure there isn't a medical issue... 50 lbs in 18 months sounds extreme. I gained 50 pounds in 8 years.

Our home makes Zucchini noodles. My fav is zucchini noddles with grilled chicken, bell peppers, and mushrooms in a pesto sauce. My BF loves it and it's such a great alternative to pasta.
