Well, so far I've managed to avoid it. I guess that's a good thing. It's effect on me? Well: I never realized paper had as value as gold. If I want to treat myself to dinner, I have to learn to like "take out". If I want to continue my fitness, I have to use my treadmill or walk outside (which I have done) as my fitness…

I have been not going because I've been in a bit of a rut lately. This has not been helped by my fitness center's decision to shut down from today until March 31st. I still have been doing a share of walkng, at least while it's still safe to go outside.

No. It's just not worth the blowback, from both within and without.

False, My best academic years were always around B, B+ TNP was/is terrible at Math.

You will discover what you need and want to do to adjust you lifestyle. I still have elements of sedentary to mine (after all I AM a retiree 😉). However, in my post hip replacements life, I have taken to finding parkings places distant from where I go or taking longer routes around park lot at home to my car and logging…

Thankful and counting my lucky stars that so far (a year out from first) my hip replacements have taken well and no recall issues I know of have come to pass. The most effective exercise for me has been walking and pool exercise, basically taking my hip PT into water. Kudos for finding what works best for you!

I don't have the issue of needing to get up and out every day, so breakfast or brunch has become more enjoyable for me. The quickest thing I can think of is a low sugar grain based cereal topped with banana and lowfat milk. When you have time, here is something I do; I raid my grocery store salad bar then next morning I…

If addressing your knee and foot issues are medically or surgically possible, by means seriously consider it. Getting my hips replaced last year was nothing short of lifechanging!! For years before, I was an immobile mess and for years being a stubborn jack--- in resisting all notions of getting checked/treated didn't help…

I like seasonal pics and sounds; it was football until end of Super Bowl last week

Not exactly a chosen solution, but one that makes discouraging unwanted conversation a bit easier: I have diminished hearing and use aids in both ears. Since the bulk of my non-swimming exercise takes place in a pool, I remove the aids as they will die when wet. So as to protect ears from excess water I wear earplugs which…

I got out yesterday as I posted. Today, rain is forecast though I haven't seen it yet and I didn't feel like going to fitness center pool today. However, I got some work on home treadmill and stepper. I do like the options I given myself! 😊

Define over-eating. I consider it over-eating to eat all the calories for the sake of using all the diary says I have remaining, especially when I am well over suggested minimum. I don't do it. Is over-eating having something conventional wisdom says you ought not have? I think that is denying yourself. Having an 8 oz…

Motivation for me is fear of becoming again the immobile mess I was prior to my 2019 hip replacements. Hoping nothing like that winds up being your motivation. Allow yourself the option of thinking beyond the "normal" reasons for doing it all in the first place, maybe motivation can be found there. Do only that exercise…

For me today, fitness means less about weight and appearance than doing what I need to do to get and keep vital lab numbers at or within normal range every six months plus continue to maintain mobility regained with two hip replacements in 2019.

Nine days until Phillie pitchers and catchers start throwing at Clearwater spring training camp!

Between having health related appointments and wanting to watch the "run-up" coverage to Super Bowl LIV (congratulations Chiefs and fans!), I had an abysmal week exercise wise! Now that that's all over, I'm trying to bounce back. I got off to good start today with a nearly hour long walk outside on this nutty spring-like…

Love bacon, but the thought of having it daily for me anyway would diminish the enjoyment of it and of eating variety of breakfast fare.

Likely, a chill day. I don't much enjoy the extensive Super Bowl pre-game coverage. I will check in periodically. I am going to record some Rugby Sevens (a game I just discovered and enjoy) matches overnight Sunday that I will watch. Shortly, I am making a hamburger BBQ (96% lean with low sodium & sugar ingredients) to…

There is a segment among Americans in the community that ought to find this hysterical: I wonder if Deion Sanders uses Amazon "Prime"? If you get it react but don't spoil. If you don't get it, I invite you to Google it, but don't spoil.

I actually have that recipe among others I keep in my phone and made it, it wasn't bad. I have waffles listed as ingredient. I must have had some toaster waffles that I put the cakes on. My concern is cholesterol, but I guess you can make it just as well with one egg and a small banana. We're talking one serving for one…

"PT far more useful" is very understated!! The PT exercises my therapists had me do in the wake of my hip replacements last year have been so effective, I have never stopped doing them! I've just taken them into the pool!! Next week will mark one year since first replacement (April for 2nd).

Pool work (and some day actual swimming) has become the core of all my exercise since my surgeries both of which were last year. Having joined a fitness center with access to lap, exercise and therapy pools as well as a walking track and general exercise equipment has given me all manner of options. I favor walking and…

If one didn't use social media then there would be a chance he or she would never see this question, so False. TNP uses multi social media entities.
