  • If one didn't use social media then there would be a chance he or she would never see this question, so False. TNP uses multi social media entities.
  • Full disclosure, it's in a pool but I have been squatting with two hip replacements, so why not? But better to be sure by checking with doctor or therapist.
  • I don't use sauna at my center, the hot tub is plenty warm for me and I leave phone in locker when I use that and pool. I have phone when I walk but to play music or audiobooks.
  • I did not mention strength training or lifting because simply because it's something I never cared for, enjoyed or did very well. My omission is not intended as condemnation. The closest I get to that is use of water resistance tools such as foam dumbells or webbed gloves for exercise involving arm movement.
  • False, but it's been a long time TNP has won a significant casino (or lottery) jackpot.
  • Today is an off day despite some walking and light treadmill walking. Otherwise, things are ok. Although not every single day, my exercise has been more consistent than it has been in many years and most days I come in under my calorie goals and manage to not deny myself. My November lab numbers were all improved. I had a…

  • Start with something like walking, outside, track or treadmill. Begin with a minute, then daily add like 10-15 seconds. Not kidding, I did this in the immediate aftermath of my hip replacements. Before I knew it I was walking an hour or more at a time. Don't even worry about speed, that will come as you get comfortable and…
  • "Blushing" No more than anybody else here, but thanks.
  • True when cold, Ball caps also. TNP has an extensive collection of hats, all types.
  • Plural. I am fast approaching the one year mark on the left side replacement and April will mark a year since the right. It has been a LIFE CHANGER! I was one of those stubborn, knuckleheads that for years resisted the notion of even going in to get checked out, all the while living with terrible gait, discomfort with a…
  • Happy March birthday, mine's the 24th. I hit the "big 65". Wishing you success with your goals. I have pretty much stopped obsessing about everything. It has all been neatly moved to that real or imagined fear that if I stop exercising, watching calories or note a dramatic weight gain that I will revert to the immobile…
  • Stay true to your calorie goals as best you can. My best advice so far as post hip replacements (I had both done last year) is despite how good things feel three months out, continue to do your hip PT exercises and incorporate them into broader exercise routines as you go along. I continued mine, I just moved them to pools…
  • Denying yourself will create a degree of angst or unhappiness which will negatively affect your efforts. If you avoid deviating from everything else you do, then have the meal, enjoy it then move on.
  • Every time I have tried to link anything with I MFP it fails miserably so I don't. My pedometer app measures duration, speed (avg.) and kcals burned. Those are what I enter, creating an exercise if I must.
  • False, civil and only rarely. TNP has piloted military aircraft.
  • Old school (or fool, depending on point of view). My body is and has been a lot of things, but I have never considered it a canvas or construction area [unless medically called for].
  • Fear. Be it real, imagined or irrational, I fear that if I don't, if I stop I will revert to the immobile, unhappy mess I was prior to my 2019 (January & April) hip replacements.
  • Beyond the extra time to focus on your fitness and health goals, the beauty of retirement (I understand this might be different with partner/family) is being the sole decider of how each of your days go, be them activity filled or just chillin'. Enjoy!
  • Once upon a time people not liking me did bother me. Nowadays, I approach it with a two word view..."their loss".
  • Continuation is my 2020 goal and I have exactly 42 fewer reasons than you have. Those two reasons are my left hip and my right hip, both of which I got replaced in 2019. Once through recovery and rehab, I became inspired to better watch my calories, be more active and do better and more consistent exercise "because I…

  • Tri-athlon; I swim terribly, ride a bike like a 'grandpa' and can't run a lick...........and I'm talking about 40 years ago when I was younger and healthier 😄😂🤣

  • We disagree. My thought is based on what I watched; your's is on the ridiculous notion of knowing more or better than the folks on the sideline or field.
  • When I tired of my spring loaded analog scale, I realized just how in-accurate my weights were when I started using a digital especially when, with the one I have I can zero it with push of a button and have choices of unit measures oz, grams, ml, pounds. A digital would not be a waste of your money and most are not…
  • I didn't see it as Texans panicking as much as they just got swamped by a Chiefs wave they just couldn't answer! Seven un-answered TD drives was a tsunami that wasn't going to be stopped. Crazy thing about football is the liklihood that nothing similar happens this week.
