  • congratulations on your weight loss, and on being a survivor! AND on continuing to be active in spite of the obstacles. You are a real inspiration. I don't know if you can afford surgery or even have the heart to go through another one? It is understandable that it would be both uncomfortable and embarrassing, yet you…
  • What is bulletproof coffee?
  • Boy do I ever hear you and feel your pain! I tend to be obsessive about the number on the scale too. Here's what changed my attitude... My trainer told me that stress releases some sort of brain chemical that causes weight gain. That 'stressing about what the number shows' may keep you from losing. That sounds crazy to…
  • Thanks for the references. I kinda knew I had some sort of problem, but didn't know it was an actual 'disorder' . I do feel very shameful about it.
  • Not cookies, and not healthy but oh so delicious!! 2 jars dry roasted peanuts 2 bags white chocolate chips 2 bags peanut butter chips 2 bags semi sweet chips Layer in crock pot. set on low. in 2 hours stir all together. If all chips have not melted wait 30 more minutes. Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper.
  • hummus spooned inside those little mini bell peppers... YUM! For portion control, I make cheese dip with one slice (one ounce) white American cheese, 2 TBS skim milk and 2 tsp of pickled jalapeno juice. Put that in a bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds: stir then microwave 30 more seconds. In the meantime, spray 2 corn…
  • I agree with the other person who answered you. Going over MFPs setting for protein is a pretty good thing. There's a post in the general fitness bord that explains how much protein, fat and carbs we need for our weight and fat percentage. TOPIC: Stop the Low-Cal Insanity! se if you can do a search for it. It cleared up a…
  • Awww, Em. Thanks for being my friend!

  • Ripped in 30 gets the best results, but you know what? I LOVE yoga meltdown. I like doing it on walking/running days. It burns calories, and feels sooooooo good.
  • Juice them! It uses up 3 or 4 apples each time. I like apple and celery juice Also, apple and spinach
  • My current fave is: 1/3 of a fresh pineapple (1/2 pineapple is better, but pineapple is just so dang expensive!) 4 or 5 (or 6) handfulls of baby spinach 1/4 inch fresh ginger 1 whole lemon, peeled in the blender with 3-4 icecubes. It's thick and pulpy, but so so tasty!
  • No, but I add coffee to my protein powder. I use a Starbucks via in two scoops of valilla wheybolic 60 from GNC. I use it with either hood calorie countdown, skim milk or almond unsweetened vanilla. Either way, it is delicious!
  • Em told me about MFP... and I'm so glad she did. It's good to log in my food each day. I know how effective it is to keep a food journal, but I never liked the math of adding calories. Since starting MFP, I see how important it is to exercise daily instead of just two days at the gym. I'm walking every day plus the 2…
  • If you have a knoweldgable trainer, or a pt, they would be able to let you know what you can do as far as walking a 5K. If the 5 K is a 'fun walk' and you can just be part of the crowd, (and if you have someone who will stay with you at your pace) there's something about having a goal that keeps us all motivated to…
  • I hear that if there is no fever, it's best to work it out, work up a good sweat. If you have asthma issues, be careful with breathing through the 'gunk'. Sweat is a great toxin remover for our bodies. Drink even more water than you did before the cold started.
  • PLEASE!!!! I want to know about 50 calorie corn tortillas! !!! are we allowed to share brands in this community?
  • Barbie, (and everyone else in this group) One thing you said... "It's never too late to reinvent yourself." That's what I want to do. I've been a missionary teacher for 25+ years, but really want to resign from the organization and from the ministry. Not because I don't want to serve any longer, but because I now have…
  • I have a friend who works full time, and goes to school part time. She also has two kids. One is in daycare, and the other is in school. One of the things she does is goes to the park 3 days a week and to the gym 2 days a week. SHE GOES DIRECTLY FROM WORK. SHE DOES NOT GO HOME FIRST. SHE DOES NOT GO PICK HER CHILD UP FROM…
