  • If you can get your dog to heel at walk, just progress that to a run. Take a couple of strides and praise them, then slowly build it up. It took an age with my pooch. He thought if I ran, he was to chase me and try and take me down! Now he just trots along by my side!
  • IS that your pooch in your profile pic? If so, he is GORGEOUS!!!!!! I cycle and run with my dog. He is a rottie x ridgeback. Took a while to teach him both, but he's awesome now! Spends 90% of our runs off the lead and just trots along, and the same with the bike. He did think it was all a huge game when I first tried to…
  • Wish there was a like button for this!
  • I am soooooooo slow!! I went for a 5 mile run this morning and it took me an hour. So I'm averaging a 12minute mile. Just think, you're still faster than every single person that is still in bed or sat on the sofa! (that's what I tell myself, to make me feel slightly better!) I've read, and may be wrong, but you shouldn't…
  • I'm in for 75 miles!
  • I agree with this, but may also be told I'm very very wrong! I run like a slug that has got caught up in peanut butter! People actually walk faster than me, I'm sure of it! But I personally want to get my distance and I'm hoping that pace will come. Only time will tell! Doesn't feel awesome to go from not being able to run…
  • I struggled with week 4 too! You can always try week 5 and if you are finding it a huge struggle just so week 4 until you feel you are ready to move up.
  • He still has stabilizer on his, but he's working up to 2 wheels!
  • I run with my dog and he has no interest in anyone else apart from other dogs. Although he did get very confussed while out on the bike the other morning when another one zoomed past when he wasn't looking and he thought it was me that had picked up some manic speed and he did his grumble that he does when I go too fast…
  • Thanks all so much!! Think I'm going to crack on with the 10K and then maybe work on my 5k pace. I honestly think people walk faster than I run! Thanks again, really helpful advice, appreciate it!
  • Amazing!!! Well done!!
  • I suffered really bad with shin splints. Ended up going to a proper running shop to have trainers fitted. They now fit like a glove, feel like I'm running on clouds and have no shin splints! I think it has somehting to do with tight calf muscles too, though I could be totally wrong about that!
  • I have attempted to start this many times and use to get horribly stuck on week 4. I've done Week 6 Day 1 yesterday and will be doing day 2 tomorrow. Just keep going! Don't stop! If I can do it, honestly anyone can!! Good Luck & Enjoy it!!
