  • You are all amazing and inspirational! I am down 23 lbs, more to go, will post if I get a pic uploaded. Keep the posting your results!
  • Hi, thanks for that app info, very helpful, have not seem Strava before. Good luck with the end of the month struggles everyone.
  • Good Morning 50+ 'ers, it has been a very long time since I have joined this conversation, even if I read it now and then to catch up with the oldie goldies from my earliest MFP days. Love the gratitude lists, the photos, and the wide range of interests. May you all have a great day, living every moment with gratitude and…
  • CW: 255 GW: 165 Thanks for maintaining this link!
  • Hi, love your charts and accountability. I will try for next Wednesday to do a report. Starting at 255, and will lose the first 25 ok, but after that, I often yo-yo up and down... I think this might help a lot! Looking forward to supporting you, and your support!
  • is this thread still active? Is Barbie ok?
  • I am thinking of you all, as you rush through your day off, doing errands, preparing for family dinners, and just getting ready for the next week ( ironing ....groan). Even the retired folks have a lot going on I find....I hope you all have a sane and calm food plan this weekend no matter what. There is so much to test us.…
  • Happy November everyone! Barbie, when I first met you here on MFP, you had the same saying on your page, so I copied it and put it in my food notes every day. I still love it, and use it. My goal for this month is to stay as clean and healthy as possible despite my constant meals out ! Keeping it simple this month!
  • Happy Halloween - I DID NOT eat any chocolate treats! I hope you all had a good day!
  • It has been a long time since I wrote on this discussion - although I have read it at times. Good to see some of the same olds from years ago; good to see so many new people. I always love the bravery of Barbie, who puts out her stats every month - very accountable. Looking forward to seeing what strength, support and…
  • wonderful accomplishment!
  • Hi, I am allergic to grains ( but not celiac) and eat rice every day. Basmati is a white rice, and I suspect it spikes the blood sugar too. What Michael Mosely said, was that brown rice that has been in the fridge for 12 hours, ( use reheated) loses the starch spike, so it does not spike blood sugar. I cook up a big batch…

  • Those beautiful linen ankle pants that are so fashionable, suddenly are too long, and the crotch is far too low now! You look more like bag lady than full figured fashionplate!
  • you can drink decaf coffee and get the same benefits - and those benefits are to protect women ( not men) from breast cancer. So you should have some coffee every day every day, and not give it up. It does have some bad components, espeically if you plan to get/are pregnant. There is good research out there. Rebel, I did…

  • I am so impressed with all the dedication and persistance in this group! Great going to all the wonderful mfp people on this thread! I am just starting, but had a pretty good result: increased my day's steps by 2,500! The hips hurt, but hey, that goes away! Great success to everyone for the next few days!
  • Even though it is half way through the month, I am going to set a step up goal to match my new macros/foodplan. Do Pool aqua excercise 3x week get min of 5k steps 5 days a week Happy to find this thread, LCD !
  • Hi, I am Brenda, and the doc has not yet diagnosed me with type II YET, but I just logged into my blood test results from Friday, and I am definitely in that group! Will see her this week then! I am used to using MFP, lost big, and then gained much of it back, and have struggled to stay on plan. The plan I am using has…
  • Happy December to everyone.....my reluctant clematis had a bloom on the 1st of Dec.....which promptly frosted. Climate change is here. This is very very southern Canada, but......
  • megatron, I went with the Fitbit HR, for the heart rates...very useful to see fat burning vs cardio, and normal resting rates. Stairs is an important function, because it also means that if you walk uphill or on an incline treadmill, you need a way to capture that part of the burn....so this one has all that, and the sleep…
  • I find that my ketosis numbers change during the day, and are lower after food, higher in the evening. I have found that eating too much protein at once - even when in my ratio - - will throw me into low ketosis numbers. Also, your body has ways to tell you it has lost... do you feel some burn in your thighs, or your…
  • I would watch what you think is your deficit....at 9 pounds your burn rate will drop, and definitely by 18. I would do another BMR estimate and then plan calories and macros around that.
  • How wonderful, a thread for discussion! thanks GMOZ...... I am new to lchf, still working out foods to fit macros. I read the new research, and since I am truly allergic to grains, this kind of food plan works for me. I have a lot to lose, but have yoyo'd before. So this time I am including daily exercise.....so that the…
  • thanks to everyone for the insightful comments! I am new here. Now I know not to discuss keto with anyone! Your experiences are enlightening. I found people do not ask how you lose weight anyway, especially if it interferes with their own beliefs. Keep on cutting! BJ
  • Hi there Mami, I am new to this group, and to low carb, but have been on MFP for a while. Let me know how your own plan works out....I love veggies and fruit, but the low carb thing does limit them. Good luck. BJ
