  • Thanks to everyone for their input. I am trying soooo hard to get back on track. I haven't completely given up all my "bad" foods as for me, if I do, there is no way I can do this. I do try to eat them in moderation. I don't have my diary open to the public because I am afraid of any negativity that might be thrown my way.…
  • A TDEE of 2750 while spending 300 at the gym implies your TDEE is 2400 without exercises... that seems rather high to me. I think the trouble is in your math. [/quote] Maybe my math should be checked. I am a 61 yr old woman, started out weighing 320 lbs. I am 5' 9" tall and I don't consider myself sendatary, but I used the…
  • Ok, here goes. I have a TDEE of 2752, a BMR of 2006. By my calculations, taking away 15% from my TDEE, I should be able to eat 2233 calories a day to lose weight. WELLLLL......when I eat 1500 - 1600 a day, I gain weight. What am I doing wrong? I do go to the Y three times a week doing what I can. I have health issues that…
  • Yes they do have a pool at the "Y". I tried that, but the chlorine in the water made my legs break out in water blisters. I had to stop because I didn't want my legs to become infected, being a diabetic. I do the recumbent bike for 30 minutes...usually reaching just about 2 1/2 miles in the 30 minutes. I am going to try to…

  • Maybe I should tell my age too. I am 61 years old and if I try to lose 2 pounds a week, it will take me 1 1/2 years to reach my goal. I know I didn't gain it overnight. I have been overweight all my life and I know I waited too long to start...but at least I have started...again. As well as being overweight all my life, I…
  • Thanks for all the replies. I forgot to mention that I do try to exercise three times a week at the "Y". I am only able to do the recumbent bike for 30 minutes and I also do strength training...the weight machines...especially the ones for my arms since I have terrible arthritis in my knees. I really depend on my upper…
  • You don't have anything to be ashamed of!! You should be proud of yourself for starting this journey and I am sure it will be a success this time! I am 5'9" and started this last journey of mine weighing 320 pounds. It's not something I am proud of either. I am 61 years old and I am still going to get this weight off. I am…
