  • A relative swears he can't tell the difference between regular Coke and Coke Zero. I'm not that in love with it, but it certainly beats diet. Don't know if you like Dr. Pepper, but they have that Dr. Pepper 10 (I think that is the name) that only has 10 calories. Good Luck...you will notice a huge difference without the…

  • I only drink Diet Pepsi when I actually have a soda, but it was *nice* to have a regular. But, it was a little too sweet for my taste buds....no more regular for me!

  • I usually just drink a couple glasses of water, and have a little something for a boost, like a swedish fish or 2, or a few m&m's. Nothing crazy, just a little sugar.
  • Ok, more info... I am 32 y/o Male, height is 5'8. "goal weight" was b/w 170-175. I run 3-4 days/week, between 40-50 miles per month. I do strength training maybe 1-2 times per week; my shoulder is a little messed up right now. I work a 9-5 desk job. I got my TDEE from 2 places - the website referenced in the infamous "in…
  • I was at 1800 calories, and to be honest, was generally having 1 definite cheat meal and sometimes 1 "kind of" cheat meal, where I would just eat more of a good (healthy) meal. I can see how the bump would be a shock to the system, though.
  • To change your activity level, go to "settings" at the top of the page, then to "update diet/fitness profile".
  • Ok, that clears it up...I didn't realize that my "acitivity level" was just for my job. I am already using TDEE, just didn't want to over/under consumer, obviously. Thanks!!!
  • Thanks for the replies and info. I agree that one of the things that popped into my head last weekend, the first at "goal", was that I could take some liberties with my eating that I had been avoiding. I have, since my journey began, allowed myself one or two cheat meals on teh weekends only, but nothing ridiculous (such…
  • My wife just made the Chicken and Spinach Rollatini alla Parmigiana (something like that!) the other night and it was amazing. I have to spend more time on that site.
  • I enjoy the Target cold weather running "stuff"...have tights, a few compression shirts, a beanie type hat and a windbreaker. I also bought a balaklava last year which I really enjoy; plus, it makes me feel like a ninja to boot. I alwaya wear a pair of shorts over the tights, and usually wear compression shirt, long sleeve…
  • I use a measuring cup. What has led you to believe that a measuring cup isn't sufficient? Just wondering, because I could eat cereal every night for a snack, but I try really hard to just eat it twice, maybe 3 times per week.
  • I used to eat oatmeal for breakfast everyday, before joining MFP. I wouldn't measure it out, and would liquify it with milk. I would add about a 2 TBS of peanut butter, a cup of frozen berries, and a whole banana. A lot of carbs there. Since joining MFP, I eat it once a week (on my weigh in day, nonetheless). I eat 1/2…
  • I went overboard on Xmas day especially, but the few days leading up to it weren't great either. My wife went to a cookie exchange party and I made cookies with my girls, so it was like "Hey, you can't let all these cookies go to waste!". I think I gained about 5 lbs, and I honestly felt sick about it. I have been…
  • "So you're 5lbs lighter in one week? Couple things - 1) enjoy it for the day 2) it mostly likey water weight. You've probably been really good the last 24-48hrs on your sodium and water which resulted in a bigger loss. You can weigh again tomorrow to see if it was a fluke or just wait until next week. But don't be…
  • I generally have a cheat day once a week, usually Friday or Saturday. But it is generally only for dinner and an evening snack. I still stay on track for breakfast and lunch. I completely went nuts on Thanksgiving and on Black Friday (second Thanksgiving meal with my parents). And both days, I felt disgusting. I actually…
  • I try to tell my wife to wake me up, but she is too soft, as in " wake up" - "No" - "okay then". This morning, I actually woke up with her alarm; I stayed in bed, but was awake. I think of it as a baby step!
  • I agree..by itself, it sucks. But I buy frozen fruit (blueberries, blackberries, strawberries) w/ no sugars added. A cup of that, an 8 oz container of plain yogurt and (if needed) a teaspoon of sugar is about 225 calories, and is really good.
