  • I will stick around! Always looking for new people to encourage.
  • I think the best think you can do for yourself is to go to your local heath clinic. Since eating disorders are such a huge problem these days most health clinics have specialists you can speak to. I can't imagine how hard it must be to admit you are having food issues but you're asking for help so that's already a big step…
  • Just because you're trying to loose weight and get healthy it doesn't mean you have to cut out sweets. What I'd recommend doing is spend a little time online, just go to google and type in "low calorie" or "low fat" or "low sugar" in front of your favourite treats and I guarantee you'll find some great recipes. Also, try…
  • I don't have a smart phone but i can get it on itunes and have it on my computer or ipod. Thanks for the tip, I'm downloading it now.
  • Thanks for your ideas everyone! jfontanna - I have a PS3 and it never occurred to me to check out the dance/workout games so that's definitely something I'll look into, especially with forth coming holiday sales. I know what you mean about the cleaning, I work in a clothing store and the biggest chunk of my job is cleaning…

  • Confidence! I'm not quite halfway to my goal yet but I already fell about 100% better about myself. I don't even care if nobody else notices the physical changes because I'm feeling so good about myself. I also just noticed this morning that the fat under my chin is gone which was a big hallelujah moment for me.
  • Go to your grocery store and actually sped some time looking at nutritional information. My biggest cravings are always salt related but rather then buying chips I just took the time looking at different crackers and seeing what I could have a satisfying amount of without blowing my whole day. Also check out the organic…
  • Hey there, As far as your issue with water I'm not really sure what you can do (sorry). In terms of getting the most out of this site I would say honesty is the best policy. If you have a day when you eat a bunch of junk or have huge portions don't try to hide it or not enter it in your diary. My first few days on MFP were…
  • Hello fellow cyclist! Seems like we're in a similar boat, I started riding my bike pretty much everyday a few years ago (mostly due to being broke) and it helped me keep my weight under control while giving me a lot of muscle. Since I was always snacking and not really watching my portions all the lovely muscles were…
  • Hey, I'm also 5"9 and according to the BMI calculator the healthy weight for our height is between 125lbs - 169lbs so trying to get 150 is a very healthy goal. Hope that helps and good luck!
  • Hey there fellow Torontonian! Feel free to ad me. Chloë
  • Be honest with your food and exercise dairies. Really, if you just stick to your daily calorie goals you should start shedding pounds.

  • Great! I hope you enjoy it violet.
  • Yes, Almond Breeze is a drink, it's sort of a milk alternative. It's not hard and fast that you use this though, I just tried it since it's very low in calories but really you can use whatever. Milk, soy milk, almond milk, it's all good though obviously the calories will change a bit.
  • Congratulations on the weight loss! In terms of staying on track and getting to your goal weight I'd recommend getting a bike (if you don't have one already). Wether you go for long rides or just use it to get from point A to B, it's a great way to burn calories, not to mention it'll save you some cash. It may seem like a…
  • I'm fairly new as well, feel free to add me.
  • Hey there, I just wanted to say that you shouldn't give up with your diet and exercise. I know hitting a wall can be very frustrating and it can be so tempting to give up but you've got to keep going! My mum has been struggling with her weight for a long time and her biggest problem is that as soon as she thinks she's no…
