  • Great job! I am also on metformin but it's for helping with PCOS. My starting weight and goal weight it also very similar to yours! I fell off the healthy wagon for a little while and am trying to get motivated again. Your progress is inspiring!
  • You look absolutely radiant, happy, and healthy!! You should be so proud of yourself. Congrats to you and the love of your life. Will definitely send you a friend request so I can be further inspired by your journey :-)
  • Thanks everyone! I also can't seem to find sports bras that fit properly, plus I think my phone would get ruined by boob sweat! I think that most companies that make activewear don't actually consider the needs of bigger people. I digress... @KettleTO sounds like I'm just a little too big for the flip belt, which…
  • I think you may be making the problem too specific. I 100% understand how a birthday can throw you way off track with eating healthy, but it's not just the cake and ice cream. Birthdays are almost always celebrated with some kind of food-related occasion (or multiple food-related occasions!) because eating food together is…
  • Thanks so much for the encouragement, everybody!
  • I'm 5'1" and heavier than you-- started at 211.5 and I'm down about 24 lbs. It has absolutely made a difference, and it's only been 3 months. I had to get rid of a bunch of pairs of pants because they were super baggy and falling off of me. Here are "during" pics I took today: I actually just made a success stories post if…
  • You are beautiful! Keep up the awesome work!
  • Great job, and super cute dress! I'm down just over 20 lbs as well and I'm starting to see my progress. Keep it up!
  • An automobile tire! That's crazy.
  • Congrats! Such an inspiration. I hope to be in a similar spot in my 1-year mark (I'm about 85 days in). I'd love to be able to run a 5K, although my shorter term goal is to run a mile without stopping. Awesome job on your progress!
  • It's such a good feeling! I hit 199 a few weeks ago and it was like an extra push to keep going (even though I try not to focus just on the numbers on the scale). Congrats!
  • Yep, I'm recently back at it again. I'll go ahead and add you!
  • Hello! I'm also 29 with PCOS. It hasn't caused too many horrible problems with my health, other than that I don't have a "productive" cycle at all without taking progesterone, and I have a harder time losing weight. Luckily my blood sugar and hormone levels have always been in the healthy range even though I've put on…
  • Nice job! I understand the reaction to seeing yourself in pictures. I don't have an "after" pic yet, but I look at current pictures of myself and think, "How did I let this happen?" Anyway, I'm going to add you and I'd love to keep up with your progress. Very inspirational!
  • Hi! I'm also 5'1". Current weight is around 202, and goal weight is about 130 (but 120 would be super nice). Feel free to add me! I'm always looking for more support and encouragement!
  • That's an awesome NSV! I've been having similar NSVs lately. My biggest problem has been self control around junk food, and only recently have I started harnessing my inner willpower to overcome this. I've been in a few situations in the past few weeks where everybody around me is scarfing down junk food. I find it's…
  • That is awesome!! I've definitely been there before... It's hard to get pants to fit my body, so I usually only have 2-3 pairs that I wear. I've lost some pounds in the past 25 days (since coming back to MFP), and I really hope that I start dropping in sizes. Congrats to you for your NSV!
  • Congrats! That DOES sound impressive!! Over the past year I've grown from a size 16 to 20, so I'd love to get back down to an 18 (and then keep decreasing, of course!). Definitely an awesome feeling to wear old pants that are a smaller size, and be happy with how they hug your curves. Keep up the good work!
  • Check you out! You look so awesome!
  • You look SO good! I'm also 5'1" and started around 209, and I hope I get to the same point you do! Right now I'm just focusing on changing my eating habits, and soon I hope to start gradually adding physical activity in. I'm going to friend you so you can continue to inspire me!!
  • Hi, and welcome back! I was actually in a very similar situation as you. I did MFP for awhile and did a pretty good job, and then I just kind of fell off the bandwagon. I've only recently returned (25 days now), and, as many times as I've said this, things feel differently. And I think they feel different because of many…
  • Beauuuuuutiful, in both pictures! Awesome job with losing 40 pounds. And your green wedding dress is SO awesome.
  • SO awesome! It's really great to hear success stories from fellow grad students, since it's a somewhat unique situation. Even though sticking to healthy food and staying within calorie counts is difficult for everybody, it seems like grad students face kind of unique challenges. You're such an inspiration!
  • Thanks! That's actually a great idea with offering to bring the snacks. I did that a few nights ago in my class. They often get pizza or baked goods or other unhealthy stuff, so the other night I brought fresh cut-up veggies with hummus. They were very well-received too! While grad students love pizza and other junk food,…
  • Thanks everybody! This definitely helps. Seems like I'm still on the right track. Should slowly work more activity into my regimen too.
  • Oooh, that sounds awesome, especially because I always have apples around. Thanks!
  • Oh wow! Now you've ruined my productivity for the day! ;-) Thanks for the resource!
  • Hi! I've been on MFP for awhile, but dropped off the train and now I'm back. So, in a way, I'm a newbie all over again. Definitely looking to connect with people for motivation! Just having a "Good job" comment on my good days is motivating, so to anybody reading this and looking for some connections and motivation, feel…
  • I'm glad somebody brought up this topic, because it's been on my mind recently too. Although I think I'm kind of in the opposite situation-- I used to rarely drink soda at all, and when I did, it was usually regular coke or Dr. Pepper. But now that I'm trying to cut calories and limit my junk food (especially snacks at…
  • That is awesome!! I totally understand the bath towel frustrations-- I often hate that when I try to wrap a towel around myself, it doesn't completely wrap, so I still have stuff showing. I'd like to get to the point where I can walk around the house in a towel and not worry about my neighbors seeing me naked!
