bump in hopes of a response.

Thanks all. I had a trainer tell me that and it didn't make sense to me given the simple solution to losing weight (cals in/cals out). I did not think of the 'how you would feel' argument, which I can now see. Junk food (or any high fat etc food) eaten way out of a reasonable portion size would make one feel physically…

I hope someone has an answer for this question. Same problem here. So far all the doctor has done is give me drugs. All that is doing is masking the issue.

Yummmm. Doughnuts are a weakness of mine too. Actually any cakey item. But everyone is right, log it and move on. (or share...just sayin')

I am going to give it a shot. Going for the 360 side of the equation.

Thanks all for your insight! Yes, 'healthy' is relative and evolving. I told my younger brother last week that I feel better at 50 than I did in my 20's. He called BS, but it is true. My weight and diet aren't perfect but I have completed a half marathon, climbed the highest peak in Idaho (12,662 ft), and completed a…

Thanks all! I appreciate the comments. Will be upping the strength training and DEFINITELY watching the diet. Going to take it 1 day at a time and if need be, 1 minute at a time. Thanks again!!!

Why not just use the 'average heart rate' and calculate the calories yourself? I find that when I do that, my calculated calories are quite a bit lower than what the HRM calculates. The formula that I use is (note, for women): Calories Burned = [(Age x 0.074) -- (Weight x 0.05741) + (Heart Rate x 0.4472) -- 20.4022] x Time…

Thanks ALL! I am sure that my motivation got lost while recuping from gallbaldder surgery back in October. Just have not gotten back up to speed since. So very depressing. BUT, and I repeat BUT, I am determined to get back on track. I started Insanity this morning and have promised myself that I will complete the program…

Thanks all! I'm going to drink more..water of course and NOT watch the scale plus add more good calories.

My calorie intake is a little above 1200, except for Monday (1800) and Thursday (???, I had a date and forgot to log). I want to weigh between 135 and 140 pounds. I currently weigh 154.8 (gads! just writing that sounds bad!!!). My highest weight was 170.6 on 2/12/12. I have been working out about 5 days a week up until now…

I am on day 5 of the first week. I have been humbled by Insanity!

Thanks all! I start tomorrow with the fit test.

Just bumping in hopes that someone can help. Thanks!

I should have mine on 10/31, just in time for your challenge, IF I can get in.
