Lactate Threshold Heart Rate Calculations Question
I read the blog about running more effectively to lose weight by using the lactate threshold method. I did the 30 minute run and took the last 10 minute average heart rate. My problem is that I don't race so I don't have a race pace. I ran as fast as I could although I could not continue at that pace and either stopped for…

Stupid question but...
Why can't you exercise away a bad diet? If it is all about calories in calories out shouldn't you be able to exercise that triple scoop of Rocky Road ice cream?

Ran out of time. What would you do?
What do you do if you truly don't have time to exercise on a particular day? Do you do more the next day? Add minutes throughout the week? Ideas please.

How do YOU define 'healthy'?
As I was starting over (again) this morning I thought to myself, maybe you shouldn't be going for 'goals'. Goals like to lose XX pounds, to be able to do XX sit ups, push ups, to be able to wear XX size clothes. Maybe, just maybe, you should just aim for healthy. Question about losing BF%
I haven't been as dedicated as I should but I decided that I want to lose 10 to 13% body fat in the next year. I am at 33.7% now (gee-whiz did I have to tell the whole world?!?!?!:blushing: ). I don't belong to a gym (and really don't want to join) and I don't have much in the way of weights (just a few dumbbells up to…

Confused question regarding TDEE and MFP Goals
My TDEE is 1982. So as I understand if I go TDEE-20% I should lose weight (or anything under TDEE). MFP sets my base level at 1200, then gives me 'exercise calories'. If I stay on THAT goal, then I should lose weight. If I go above MFP but stay below TDEE-20%, should I still lose weight? I think that I should but maybe not…

Almost 50, need to lose 20 pounds...
Could really use some MFP friends to help with the process. I have already lost 25 pounds but at the same time lost my motivation. Have you seen it? I would really like it back if possible...

Ok, what did I do wrong?
I completed 12 workouts this week (2 a day), burned 4253 calories, low sodium intake, ate at least 1200 calories a day, didn't go over calorie limit, drank between 7 and 8 glasses of water a day, and yet the scale barely moved. Seriously? A 6 oz loss? What am I doing wrong?

Almost 50 and starting Insanity, info please
I am almost 50 and decided to try Insanity. I'm NOT trying to look like the ladies on the infocommerical (may I buy those genes???) but want to get stronger, leaner and improve my health. My goals are: Lose 15 pounds and lose 5-8% body fat. Strength is subjective but I would love to be able to knock out 20 pushups without…
