  • That explains why I'm alway low on Potassium intake. Ok thank you!
  • Ok nevermind. I guess the ap just doesn't break down poly and mono fats. Not sure why it tracks those then but ok. Question answered.
  • I used this ap for several years and just started using it again. It didn't use to do this. Guess I should have left it uninstalled lol it's frustrating me.
  • I bar code everything and the breakdown on this ap only shows 3 grams.
  • The thing is I did not eat 43 grams of fat already. Only 2 eggs and some non dairy creamer. It added fat for my apple!
  • Ok cool. You can still lift heavy. Other than that you realize you are trying to accomplish two counter goals so just lift heavy and try to build as much muscle as possible while keeping the body fat low. You don't look like you have any problems staying lean, maybe just do longer lower aerobic cardio like I do. I feel…

  • Cut out the cardio, eat a lot and do heavier weight - 4-6 setts of 5-8. reps- meaning a weight you fail at around 5 reps. Also focus on the big lifts. Squats, deadlifts, bench, standing military presses. Cardio and high intensity workouts are the opposite of what you want to put weight on.

  • Sometimes too little sodium can cause water retention. For instance if you drink tons of water with very little sodium. One of water's main function is to flush sodium.
  • You also want to make sure your sodium to potassium ratios are in check. Both are tracked in your diary. If your sodium percentage is much higher than your potassium percentage, try eating a banana after your workouts. The amount of sodium isn't as important as the relation of sodium to potassium and water intake. Unless…
  • I was in the same situation. My weight swings were 1-4 pounds every day. It's water weight. It could be caused by working out too often with not enough rest. Introducing more intense, longer or new exercises, or not eating clean. When I went back to clean foods my weight stabilized and I have been virtually the same weight…
  • sounds like we are very similar. everyone is different with a different metabolism. I just weighed in and lost another pound. My strength is the same, my energy is increased and I am keeping my muscle. This myth is definitely debunked in my mind now for sure.
  • well I've learned on here it is impossible to ever share an opinion or life experience without offending someone, no matter how good the intentions are. I am who I am and I won't apologize for that, because i'm a good person and purposely hurt no one. I will however, say I'm sorry if you are offended. Obviously if you read…
  • first and foremost, you need to get yourself healthy. Forget about vanity and work on your mental state. I have experience with depression and it is a real medical issue that you must address. Eating whole nutrient dense foods and exercise will help you get the proper nutrition to get your digestive system and immune…
  • what's the point of building extra muscle anyway if you're just going to eat so much you have a layer of fat around it lol. I know that makes sense for some, especially professionals, who want to do the bulk cut thing, but if you just want to look good for the girls and live a normal life, then that's a different story. I…
  • I can't sleep either if I work out too close to bedtime. I think that is natural as your body is all reved up
  • I agree with this. It helps to think of it in weeks. If you shave a 100 calories 5 our of 7 days, that's 500 less total calories you consumed that week and over an extended period of time that should cause you to keep losing, assuming your calorie target is low enough to lost weight to begin with. And as another person…

  • you really won't get a better answer than this. You will probably see a few heated debates about, but from my experience, he is dead on point.
  • I was just over there 2 years ago and I noticed how skinny everyone is despite the fact that they eat french fries with mayo all the time!
  • Not necessarily. When I was 21, I dieted and got down to 147 and I am 5 10. If you want to gain weight because you want to work out and build muscle, that is very possible. If you are just worried you are too skinny then if you are healthy, I don't think there is such a thing. If you are losing weight without trying for no…
  • Perfectly said.
  • funny stuff. So true.
  • If what you got of this post is that I am pushing the Gandhi diet, then I have to laugh as I think you missed the point all together. I did not say it was the best way to get ripped. I didn't say that everyone should do it. I didn't say YOIU couldn't get ripped eating 2000 calories (good for you and I'm jealous! :) - The…
  • I appreciate that and you are correct by traditional standards. I'm not really debating that. The gist of my post is really unrelated to the standard bulking cutting cycle of serious weight lifters. It's about starvation mode. That being said, I thank you for the comments.
  • It is natural to lose strength when you lose weight and vice versa. That is why body weight exercises are usually used as the measure with lifting. For instance if you can bench pressing double your bodyweight is super impressive, but if you are 200 pounds and drop to 180, double your body weight would be less. Also,…
  • You may want to. I started because I have no appetite during the day but am always hungry at night. I found that no matter how much I ate I'd still be hungry at night, so I decided just to start eating much later. And it is working. Heck the Italians eat pasta at 9 every night and they are all skinny over there :)
  • W I do the same and feel the same. Way more energy when I don't eat and have always worked out on an empty stomach. The pumps are so much better! We don't need as much food or to eat all day long like so many claim. I build muscle just fine eating very little.
