Some people enjoy much success with this. You know the calorie content, you only way what you order, etc. Whereas if I make something at home, there's find of left overs. Idh to eat them but they exist. I can. And might. Fast food is easy portion control.

If someone gave me grief over a piece of pizza (or heck, half a pizza), we would probably not get along. That said, I work hard. I workout hard. This is about creating sustainable habits for life. Not depriving myself until I reach an arbitrary number.

Seeing as how there are exactly zero people in my real life who are interested in a 16 mile trail run, I go out alone all the time. No one has ever bothered me. That's not to say I believe no one ever will/could- but I refuse to not do.something that is important to me bc of a remote possibility. Not interested in living…

Take Friday off, too, if you want. Or go out and do an easy couple of miles. Good luck on your race!

I would tell someone that my commute time was a time for me to decompress, meditate and prepare myself mentally for the tasks ahead& of me at home. I think this would be a particularly good excuse for someone with children. A commute could very well be your only quiet time.of the day.

I'm glad you found a motivator. I'm sorry for what it was, though. I think your sister would be proud of you.

What is up with people dumbing all over the place and then blaming people's reaction on personal butthurt? There's enough stupid here. No need to contribute to it.

which is all the time. Except for the time they take off to write a thread about it.

In all seriousness- as someone with a pretty physical job who wears a pair of redwings 40+ hours a week....my boots are effing comfortable. i wouldn't run a race in them, no. But walk? Elliptical? Psssh. Taking candy from a baby. Imma guess most men who show up in jeans and or boots work in that ish everyday. it IS workout…

BF has been cooking it in the microwave lately per the instructions on the bag. Here's a link with instructions in case your bag doesn't have any. Turns out pretty good with minimal maintenance. http://www.mahatmarice.com/en-us/products/57/WholeGrainBrownRice.aspx Will agree, white is better.

If your fitness and body makes other people who are not as fit as you uncomfortable....I'd venture to say that's actually an issue they need to work through (by getting over it or changing it). I wouldn't wear the outfit you described to my Grandma's bday party, but you and I are the same age and I wouldn't hesitate to…

I think this is probably a good place for anyone looking to increase their mileages or looking to run long distances eventually. The people here running marathons and longer are a wealth of information.

Great work! Your legs are starting to show some nice definition!

Ditto on what the above posters said. .8+ g/ lb of LBM is a reasonable intake if you're active, which is probably more than you're getting (even with going over MFP's 20% recommendation).

Fantastic!!!! :drinker:

What makes you think strangers can say magic words that will make you care enough to do something about your situation? You'll do it or you won't. No one here is going to be cooking your dinner or telling you to stop at one serving of cake/ice cream/potato chips/etc. No one here is going to be getting you up in the morning…
