Oh, I actually own some five fingers already! I forgot about those! Maybe will try those too.

Thanks guys. Maybe I'll try barefoot tomorrow and see how it feels.
-
Darn, and I was totally planning on friending you until you posted this.

Two pairs of shorts and about 6 t-shirts. That's plenty given how often we have to do laundry in a household of 6

Epic.

Agreed. That guest appearance on Whose Line is hysterical. Like, bring-a-tear-to-my-eye-every-single-time-no-matter-how-many-times-I-watch-it hysterical.

I'm not an expert, but I've recently been told that if you start a vigorous exercise routine, your muscles will retain a fair bit of water at first. This can easily mask any losses for a few weeks or a month.

We got a cheap olympic bar and 270 pounds of weights from Canadian Tire for like $100 (it was being discontinued and the last one we could find). Got a power cage from Flaman Fitness for $600. Got the bench and some dumbbells off kijiji (think Craigslist for Canadians). Had the treadmill for a few years, but I think it was…

Shovel snow!

Haha, this is good. :)

I did a walk/run half marathon in 2007. I could barely walk for days I was so stiff. Sounds pretty normal to me.

I think, realistically, if you want to lose weight and have it stick for life, that you will have to learn moderation at some point. So, while eating to an alarm would definitely not work for me, I think part of this journey is trying different things with an open mind and seeing which ones work for you. Good luck!

I don't see how anyone can answer that question for you, sorry.

If I had to describe how it looks, I would go with "sweaty beached whale aggressively struggling to go faster".

What does 'sufficient' mean? Any exercise you do will be beneficial.

This can give you an estimate. Of course the only way to truly know is to accurately track everything you eat and see if your results match up over a long period of time. http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/CalRequire.html

In my experience with fitbit linked to MFP the calorie burn calculation is pretty accurate. Basically if you have yourself set to sedentary in MFP, then just about any activity you do is going to add calories in order to maintain your chosen rate of loss (which I'm assuming you have set at 2lbs/wk because otherwise your…

What the others said, or just do a slow progression on your own. Maybe start out walk 5 minutes, slow run for 1 minute if you're a total newbie. Then move to walk 4 minutes run 1 minute for a few days or a week. Eventually you'll get to run 2 walk 1, run 3 walk 1, and so on. Just go slow and you will build up faster than…

If eating eggs is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

I looked into it. Sounded horrible, not allowed to eat any of the things I love. Didn't do it.

Love it. Great stuff.

I don't log my coffee, but i log the cream that i put in it. 8 calories per day for the two cups i drink is basically nothing.
-
100% true. Shifting to thin crust has allowed my pizza addiction to continue unabated while I lose weight.
-
That's how I approach it, yes.

I just did my lifting for the day to this. Excellent suggestion. Die Mongols die!
-
Haha, brilliant.
-
This sounds epic. Gonna try it!

Music works for me. Spotify has some great playlists which let me hear new songs which have a good beat for running. If I'm working hard (and at my current fitness level, everything is hard), I can't do kobo, TV, or tablet, simply have to focus on the effort of running.

Yeah I do this (hooray for baconator day!). Sometimes it involves standing at the entrance to the fast food place while looking up their menu online and deciding what I can fit in. Fast food places are actually great in a sense because all their info is available, and you can actually be fairly confident that the process…

I was wondering when I would get IT advice. I'm actually an IT guy, so I'm well aware of how to tell if something is a problem with my computer or with a website. Secondly, I'm getting the same behaviour both from corporate computers at multiple locations as well as my own home computer, all of which are protected by…
