  • Are you having dressing on those salads? Pickled(high salt) stuff. Are you measuring everything? I noticed your sodium was high quite a bit-may be retaining some water. Also, I noticed that you eat out pretty often, and when you do that it's never totally accurate with regard to calories, etc. You might try eating at home…
  • My sons had rats and they were so smart. My oldest even had a leash for one. They would lock them in the underwear drawer when cleaning the cage and you can imagine how their underwear looked!:ohwell:
  • ARIZONA GREEN TEA WITH GINSENG! :smile:That's what quenched my urge for cokes.Great picker upper.
  • THIS! I used to be a pre-k teacher and we had to poddy train for the parents--at 4 years old!!!!

  • My husband is allergic to nuts, pineapple and especially milk and milk products(Gets flu-like symptoms). Never has shown up on any tests but I've seen it all so I know he is. It took him till his early twenties to figure out what it was. He did this mostly by way of an elimination diet. Eat safe foods and then add and see…
  • DO be prepared to cook. I have found a simple steaming basket to be indispensable for a quick meal. I make double recipes of rice and freeze half. Then in a jiffy I can steam veggies mixed with scallops, fish, or small pieces of meat and steam it all together in a saucepan in minutes and serve over rice. Or stirfry veggies…
  • arthritis in feet=no jogging or running anymore. Instead I jog on a personal trampoline and do a recumbent exercise bike. These are done on alternate days and preceded by calisthenics
  • Though my kids and I are quite a bit older, I still have a crazy, busy schedule keeping everyone taken care of. I often forget to eat right or even at all(sometimes I cook so much I feel like I've eaten already and just forget!) I need to lose about 10 lbs., but it is hard to stop and think about what I eat. I wind up…
  • Hope the biking works out for you. I have problems with running like you, but I have found that running on a little trampoline allows me to jog. I do this 3xwk and recumbent bike 2x wk and that is how I got around my foot problem Maybe this could help you. Anyhow, feel free to friend me if you need support!:flowerforyou:
  • Rockport. I:heart: it here! BTW- Where is Bosqueville???

  • I would count the walking 1/2 mile as cardio, but would also make it count by bringing shoes if necessary and keeping up a good, brisk pace. Hope this helps!
  • Try eating more potassium. This is found in bananas, etc. A symptom of deficiency is muscle cramps. Do you take vitamins? This and lots of water. Also, as said before running every other day is best.
  • The specialty running shoe store near me, Fleet Feet, guarantees their shoes. They will take them back for a full refund and fit you with another pair if the ones they say will work for you do not work out. This is a plus for buying at the store rather than online. You might check the stores near you. Also a good place to…
  • I seldom eat bkfst. If I do, it's a piece of toast or something at 10 a.m. ish . If I eat a good bkfst at bkfst time I am 10X hungrier at lunch and have funny blood sugar all day. That jump start your day stuff is hooey. Glad someone else posted they think it is too. Good nutrition is the real key here. Don't force it. My…
  • I made some today (had to after that post yesterday!!!) I of course added much extra bacon at end. DELICIOUS!! Hope yours are good, too! Let us know!
  • I also use collards and swiss chard in my stir fry as a replacement for bok choy cabbage, (alot cheaper, too, since it's in my garden year round!!) I shred some and put it in the soup bowl before pouring in the hot soup. I add it to salads.
  • Saute cut up turkey bacon, turkey ham, minced onion in the bottom of the pot. (Use a little water or oil to stop from sticking) Roll up the collard leaves a few at a time and cut in thin "shreds". Stir these in with the other stuff in the bottom of the pot. Fill pot with water just to cover collards, bring to a boil and…
  • 52 here. Very different ballgame for me in the 50's and post-meno, too. I think at about 49 someone stole my body and part of my mind in the night and replaced them with somebody else's! lol  Energy levels for exercising way down. Having to figure out how to work out within the limitations of what I can do rather…
  • 5'1"
  • When I could run, the wrong shoe could really mess me up. It might be the shoes. Now that I have arthritis in the balls of my feet I have to wear special insoles that have what looks like a thick piece of tape right by where the arthritis is. Amazingly, something even this small is able to alter the way my foot moves…
  • Exercise is a big factor, too, in avoiding diabetes. BTW Anyone against animal fats should read "Fat:The Misunderstood Ingredient" or "Real Food" and maybe watch "The Oiling of America" a shocking look at the damage done since hydrogenated vegetable fats and shortenings entered the market in this country. This video is…
  • You might try "treating" yourself to a healthy, sweetened smoothie right afterwards just to tell your body and mind "good job". Or a nice sweet cup of your favorite yogurt. When I weight trained 3X a week this is what I did because when I did not I left feeling drained of mind and body. I LOVED weight training, and…
