Hi!
My name is Stacie. I am 43 and live in Sealy, TX. Married, no kids. I finally hit a weight (226) that I was not happy with and got motivated. I joined MFP in January. I've been going to a nutritionist and she told me about it. It's been very helpful in making me realize how much I'm eating each day.
So far I've lost about 8 pounds. Unfortunately I also have a bone spur in my heel, so I can't exercise as much as I'd like. BUT I am seeing a podiatrist again this week. I will probably have a cortisone shot, and perhaps surgery next month. I am also in the market for a bike....I have to have some kind of exercise!! I've been to a few bike shops and hope to make a decision by the end of the week. I live in an area with some beautiful country roads...can't wait to start taking advantage of the beauty!

Hope the biking works out for you. I have problems with running like you, but I have found that running on a little trampoline allows me to jog. I do this 3xwk and recumbent bike 2x wk and that is how I got around my foot problem Maybe this could help you. Anyhow, feel free to friend me if you need support!:flowerforyou:0

Get a bike, and you'll never regret it. I love my bikes. Love to ride! The best exercise because it is so much fun.0

Hello Stacie, welcome to MFP. You should find lots of support here. You are fortunate to live in a nice climate where you can get outside and do stuff. Hope you get that foot taken care of, I know how much of a hindrance that can be. Biking would be a wonderful way to get some exercise and burn some calories. Just remember this is a lifestyle change (marathon not a sprint) and you will have better success. Best of luck to you on your journey and great job on losing 8 lbs.0

Thanks all! I’m going to one last bike shop after work today to see what they have. If I find something there, I’ll have to go and get a rack for my car, then get the bike.
I’m really looking forward to it!
I saw my nutritionist yesterday. She thinks a bike is a great idea, and thinks that I’ve not lost anymore weight because of my carb intake. Sooo, I’m trying to stay between 45 and 60 grams of carbs each day. It’ll be a challenge and may take a little time to get down to that, but I can do it. Up until now, I’ve just been concentrating on the number of calories and not paying attention to carbs at all. Meals are not a problem…it’s the snacks. So I just have to find what I can snack on and stay within my carb range.
I'm really hoping that once I get the number of carbs down, and add regular exercise, I'll see another drop in pounds!0
