  • My good friend just had a baby several weeks ago and she did this. This baby is her 3rd, and she says she feels a million times better than she did with her first two and attributes it to the pills. It has helped her milk supply, her post-partum depression (she has a history of super awful PPD), and her overall energy…
  • We CDed our first, and we loved it. She is 5 years old now so I know there have probably been some new innovations to the brands we tried, but we loved Bum Genius one size pockets best. I am SO EXCITED to CD this new baby, especially since I still have our whole stash ready and waiting and we won't have to buy much of…
  • The more I keep at this (and I have logged for over 315 days now) the less I feel the need for a whole cheat day. When I have an entire day of unchecked eating, I feel gross afterward - both physically and emotionally. If I absolutely have to have something, I have it, and I do my best to make it fit into my calories. If I…
  • I was hanging on to a lot of them but lately I have been gleefully purging my closet. It feels so nice to have the extra space and watch those things disappear to make room for new, smaller sizes. I donate them to the local rescue mission thrift store. I have kept a few things that would work as maternity clothes in the…
  • I make a really yummy egg bake casserole type thing that lasts several days. It involves eggs, cheese, cottage cheese, and whatever veggies I want to throw in. It's so good. I also have been making this apple-muffin-in-a-mug thing I found on pinterest, similar to those brownie-in-a-mug microwavable desserts but more…
  • Oh and don't worry about the washing machine, they actually say in the online manual to wash the strap in the machine in a garment bag every five workouts (I think that's what they said anyway). They DID say to take it out before the spin cycle starts, but mine went through the wash several times before I got that memo.
  • I had that exact problem with my FT4. I contacted customer service (they have live chat on their help page, and a phone number too), and they sent me a new transmitter. After a couple months the same problem cropped up again so I had to send the watch and the strap and the transmitter in for warranty service. They…
  • Huh... I have been freezing my face off this winter and never made the connection until reading this. I am usually not cold natured at all but lately have been sleeping under 3 blankets and not taking off my coat when I come inside the house. I thought something was wrong with our thermostat but my family never complains…
  • When I used to go to Weight Watchers meetings, I had a leader who once said "If you trip down a couple stairs, you don't throw yourself down the rest of the staircase." It cracked me up and really resonated with me. So if you have one meal or one day or one weekend that's a failure, just stop and regain your balance and…
  • I'm a 32 year old mom to a five-year-old 5'6" SW - 245 CW - 176 GW - 145 I workout 6-7 days a week with Jazzercise (which is not as dorky as it sounds) and I'm considering doing a couch to 5k but am kind of nervous about it. My MFP friends feed is kind of slow and I would love to add some new friends!
  • Can you recommend a dance hoop? I got a weighted one for Christmas and while I can keep it up for long lengths of time, it always leaves me with massive bruises (like the size of my whole hand) that take forever to heal and hurt so bad. I'd love to get a less violent hoop but I'm not sure what I should be looking for.…
  • I recently bought this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D787AYQ/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The black and purple color is on sale for about $20. I bought it in a 38D, and I'm super happy with it. I do a Jazzercise class with a lot of skipping and shimmying and stuff, and this thing holds me in place so…
  • Yeah, it happens. Sometimes it's really funny when it comes up with a completely different product. If the barcode brings up something different (or old/incorrect nutritional info) try searching by the item's brand name.
  • Go here and check the box: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/settings
  • I usually aim to go over on protein if I can. Whenever I'm low on carbs I tend to be over on fat. Like others said I mainly just focus on the calories though and don't worry too much about the pie chart breakdown.
  • My friend started trying to break up with coffee creamer too. She started using almond milk and a little vanilla extract. She says it's okay, not the same at all, but a decent substitute. I am still meeting up with coffee creamer on a daily basis and while I know I probably need to call it quits, I just am not ready yet...…
  • Same here. A lot of treats just seem less appealing after I take a good look at exactly what the serving size is. Some ice creams are more than 300 cals for a 1/2 cup serving. That is a total turnoff for me now.
  • I can't stand those "Share this recipe to save it on your wall!!" posts. I have an aunt who posted that kind of crap all the time and it drove me bonkers. I finally asked her if she'd heard of Pinterest, where she could actually save and organize recipes rather than just offer free advertisement for these pages who just…
  • I don't even let myself entertain the thought of sitting out of a workout to relax. I treat it like a job, where I HAVE to be there at whatever certain time. Don't think about it too hard or you will start to talk yourself out of it. Just go. Be there when you said you'd be there. Chances are once you get the bump of…
  • The first thing that helped me was to find something I seriously enjoyed. I *hated* all exercise I tried until I started doing Jazzercise (which I know sounds dorky, but it isn't - promise). Once I started looking forward to going, that was more than half the battle. Another thing that helped me was having other people…
  • You look gorgeous. My boobs were the first to go when I lost weight and kind of miss them. They're still very present (maybe 38D? I haven't been professionally fitted in years) but I kind of miss the DDD I was wearing before. Anyway. You look gorgeous :)
  • Me too, for this exact reason!
  • With mine I have to wash the strap after each workout; after several workouts without washing it will sometimes have problems reading. Yours I think is one without a strap, but are you supposed to wipe it down after? Maybe the buildup of sweat is interfering with its ability to detect your heart rate?
  • Have you tried putting a weight on the scales to see what they say? Do you move the digital one around a lot? I used to have one that I had to prop up behind a cabinet for storage and pull out when I wanted it, and it had to recalibrate itself every time and varied several pounds based on where on the floor I put it. Now I…
  • I have a Polar FT4. It's easy to use and relatively inexpensive (I got the cheapest color on Amazon). When I had some problems with it malfunctioning the customer service was incredibly helpful and they had it repaired and returned to me very quickly under the warranty service. It's been working perfectly now. Of all the…
  • Now that the weight is off do you still need the metformin anymore? I am supposed to be taking it but due to the extreme GI side effects it gives me I find it hard to stick to it. I've been losing weight with diet and exercise alone in the hopes that when I reach my goal my insulin resistance will be gone and I won't need…
  • That's really sad, I'm sorry that happened to you :(
  • I love love love Jazzercise. Definitely try it out, especially if she bought you a pass! Their website has demonstrations of all the basic moves that every routine is built on, so you can familiarize yourself with what you'll be doing. The moves are seriously not too hard, and it's lots of fun and burns a ton of calories.
  • Before I hit the 40 pound mark I got a lot of comments like "did you get a hair cut?" which was really discouraging. People could tell something was different, but they didn't consider my weight might be it. That made me sad every time. I just started saying "yes, I got a hair cut" because correcting them made us both feel…
  • They also have a live chat option as well, M-F 8:45-5:15 http://www.polar.com/us-en/support/contact_us/email_polar I would much rather chat than talk on the phone personally. They were very helpful when I was having technical issues with mine.
