Heart Rate Monitor question

Two days ago I started day 36 of Insanity and I burned 1151 calories for the 60 minutes. And Then today I did day 36 again since I missed two days, so I figured I'd restart month 2 and my HRM showed that I burned 63 calories in 60 minutes and I worked just as hard as I did the first time..This is the second time I used this HRM, I recently purchased this a week or so ago. It was $60, had a new battery and I don't think it's a cheap HRM that would give out this quickly. I turn it on when needed and turn it off as soon as my workout is finished, so I don't think the battery is shot. It would show when It would need to be replaced. It's a Sportsline Woman's Solo 915 HRM if that helps any. Has this been a problem for anyone else (Doesn't have to be the same HRM as mine)? If so, did you figure out that problem? This is my very first HRM and I read through the guide it came with and I didn't find anything that could be causing this.
Thanks :)

With mine I have to wash the strap after each workout; after several workouts without washing it will sometimes have problems reading. Yours I think is one without a strap, but are you supposed to wipe it down after? Maybe the buildup of sweat is interfering with its ability to detect your heart rate?

I've just had a look at the reviews on Amazon and it seems to be a common problem (sorry). I'd make sure the strap is clean and you have good contact between it and your wrist.
