  • I just wanted to lend my support to you and tell you that I do feel your pain! I have/had been on a plateau for over five weeks....i got very disheartened and ended up falling off the wagon for a week... Hang in there-keep up the hard work and it will pay off!
  • lizard, that is really interesting! I think I might try wearing mine for the day...thanks for posting that!
  • Ladyjh-thanks for your post and congrats! I have been at a plateau now too for about five weeks and have been getting so frustrated and just ready to throw in the towel. But you've inspired me to keep on going! Thanks!
  • Thanks kistin! :flowerforyou: It's really nice to have support through this tough spot! I just got back from the gym and burned almost 1200 calories so I am going to spend the afternoon trying to pig out! In a healthy way of course. I'm determined to eat every last calorie this week and see if that scale will…
  • Hey everyone! Just wanted to say great work to all those who have lost. And if you haven't, don't worry-just keep up the hard work and it will happen. At least that is what I am telling myself... I have been at a plateau of 178 for over a month now-it has definitely taken a toll on my psyche and I spent Friday,…
  • 8 hours of carpentry work is only 34 calories?!?! That can't be right! :noway:
  • Thanks kistinbee-I appreciate the support! I need it right now! I'm sorry you are having the same problem...stinks! But it is nice to know that I am not alone. We WILL get through this plateau-I know it. Keep up the hard work everyone!
  • Well, I weighed in yesterday morning-I was planning on posting right away to let you all know but between my busy day and my anger at the scale I didn't want to sound too much like a whiner. I am pretty sure there must be something wrong with my scale...maybe it is protesting? One month now of not budging, not one single…
  • Welcome to MFP! You will find a ton of support on this site. Good luck on your journey!

  • I don't weigh in until Wednesday AM, but I just wanted to say hi and good job everyone! Hang in there, we are doing great!!
  • Thanks for sharing that info banks...very good to know!
  • Oh my goodness..can I come over for dinner?!?! That sounds amazing!!
  • That sounds amazing!!!  I CANNOT wait to try this one!
  • Hello all! Hope everyone is having a good week! I had my weigh in today and I've officially it a plateau. I've been at 178 for three weeks now. The dang scale won't budge! :grumble: Oh well, at least it isn't going up! I got my new Polar heart rate monitor on Monday and according to it I am burning more calories…
  • Pam, how weird that yours and banks is lower than the treadmill but mine is higher...so strange! Well, I just got back from the gym. For bodypump, the monitor said I burned 540 calories in 60 minutes. For RPM it said 640 in 45 minutes. I certainly believe the RPM reading because boy oh boy was I working hard! Bodypump I'm…
  • Hey banks-thanks for the tip! I went through all of the settings again this morning and as far as I can tell-it is all set correctly. It does seem high though doesn't it? Well, today I head to the gym for bodypump and spin class. We'll see what it says today, although I don't have machines to compare it to for either of…
  • Ah ha! Well, now that makes a bit more sense-I didn't think of that! Thanks songbyrdsweet-you are a wealth of knowledge!!
  • Hey jvball-yeah I think I definitely trust this one more than the machines. Especially considering they take in a few more factors than the standard gym equipment. The Polar F11 does do a running heart rate and calorie burn. It has a ton of other really cool features-I'm still figuring it all out!
  • Thanks lizard-I'm sure you will love it! I was able to run so much longer because I was so distracted by concentrating on my heart rate that I didn't get bored or tired! By no means am I complaining about burning more calories than I have thought but just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one!!
  • I received my Polar F11 heart rate monitor early this afternoon. Spent about an hour playing with it-so much fun! And used it for the first time for exercise this evening at the gym. I am really loving it...but curious about one thing. I obviously know that the heart rate monitor is more accurate as far as telling me how…
  • Thanks for putting these up here songbyrdsweet! I have been looking for a good, low cal muffin recipe and I'll be trying these tomorrow!
  • For me...same ol same ol... 2 cups coffee w/ sugar free vanilla creamer (1 Tbsp each cup) Instant cream of wheat 1/2 grapefruit 1 egg white (hard boiled) Hope a lot of people post on this-I need some new ideas!
  • Hmmm...that is a good question! I would probably ask your teacher or a personal trainer at your gym what their estimation would be. I find the people at my gym incredibly helpful with those kinds of things!
  • I weighed in this morning and I'm still at 178...same as last week. I guess the positive is that I didn't gain! Especially considering I sorta splurged on Valentine's and had a rough Sunday (pizza)...so I'll take the 178. So... Started (1/24)-185 Today-178 7lbs lost in about a month...not bad when you look at it that way!…
  • Alaskagal-I totally hear you on that! I exercise six days a week and on my "off" day I walk the dog as exercise. Not because I love exercise, but because I love earning the extra calories to eat!!!
  • Kistinbee-hang in there! Maybe next week will bring a bigger number. I think you are right too-it could be a number of factors...not enough water, muscle gain, but on thing is for sure. You are doing great! I don't weigh in until Wednesday but I am already nervous. I did not have a very good weekend. I ate pizza for dinner…
  • Awesome job! What a great feeling...keep it up!
  • Thanks for the suggestions rheston and rem! I appreciate it... I did google a couple of them and had some pretty good luck. Thanks again! Erin
  • Hey everyone! Hopefully everyone is recovering nicely from Valentine's splurging! I have a question for you all...I went out last night for dinner with the hubby and totally splurged. I don't feel bad about it because I hadn't since I started this and I had fully prepared to. I had over 1200 calories I could use…
  • Great job! What a wonderful Valentine's gift! Keep up the awesome work meme! :drinker:
