  • wow. I've lost 65lb and need to lose about another 40 to be at goal. It's great to see the difference 40lb can make.
  • I respectfully disagree about recumbent bikes being bad for your knees. I use my recumbent bike almost every day. I had a double total knee replacement 12 months ago, and the work I did on my recumbent bike in the six months prior strengthened my knees and I had an amazing recovery. I could really feel the difference.
  • 70lb, which I've maintained for about 3 years. Time to get cracking on the final 30
  • Congratulations! I always knew Big Macs didn't deserve the bad press!
  • I am also struggling with this. I can post pics as an attachment but can't seem to post pics like everybody else. There's an icon here that looks like a page with the top corner folded. If you click on that, you can attach a file stored on your computer. That's about all I know. I'd love to know how to put photos side by…
  • I was 285lb and am your height. I've lost 70lb but very slowly. Get a med check. I know very little about polycystic ovaries but i think they do impact on metabolism. Take heart in that u couldnt put on 10lbs of fat in one week without a helluva alcohol fuelled cream bun laden party every single day at least. It could be…
  • I'm glad I found this post. I can't find store bought dressings that don't contain vinegar, which upsets my stomach, so I'll try most of these recipes.
  • Ranting with you. I struggle to lose more than 500 gm a week. If I'm extremely good and if I exercise a lot, I can push it to about 700 gm a week. I've lost 32 kg so slowly and in Feb put on 3 kg without being overly bad! Frustrating, but what can you do!
  • I am 66 and I have lost 32 kg and have about 15kg to go. It's comes off so slowly (< 500 gm a week) and goes on so fast. In Feb I was less mindful about my food than I normally am but I wasn't overly bad, though it's summer here and there was ice cream! I weighed myself yesterday and I've put on 3 kg! I didn't binge at…
  • You look amazing. I'm so impressed with your abs. I wouldn't have thought that possible. Thanks for sharing your exercise routine (as well as the other stuff). I'm going to do what you've done! I've lost around 70lb and have about 40 to go. I don't know that I can get the abs, but I'll do my best.
  • If I don't exercise, I lose less than 500 gms a week. If I do exercise, weight loss goes up about to about 650 gms a week. You will still lose weight if you only diet, but you'll get a little more weight loss if you exercise as well. My words to myself are that I can eat a little more if I exercise. I get not wanting to go…
  • Do bullies treat you different? Not unless you show a different persona. Bullies pick their victims. My daughter put on heaps of weight in an emotional response to bullies who were calling her fat. Do you family members start treating you nicely? You can't change behaviour, you can only change your response, through which…
  • I found I was becoming too obsessed with the scale, so I weigh on 13th of the month. I picked the 13th so I can blame bad luck if the figures don't go my way. I saw a funny post on FB today - 'Every time we try to eat healthy, along comes Christmas, Easter, Summer, Friday or Tuesday and ruins it for us'!
  • I would like to see your pics. I am your height. Your current weight is lower than my ideal weight of 70-74 kg! I carry my weight in my legs. Maybe that makes a difference. I need to lose around 18 kg to get there. I will surely die of despair ig I have an additional 10 kg to lose.
  • I'm not doing low carb any more, but when I tried it for a while I used the site iifym.com (iifym = if it fits your macros) to set my macros. Instruction on how to amend your mfp goals is at https://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/questions/17477880-help-setting-goals.
  • Wow. I'm going to print off all of these responses. I live in Australia and I love Costco, but I wasn't aware of some of the food that has been posted. Costco do the BEST (and cheapest) rotisserie chicken.
  • You don't need to lose the whole 100 lbs to start feeling good about yourself and for people to notice. I've lost around 70lb, with about another 30 to go. The alternative is to keep on the path that got you to this point and to then find this time next year that you have perhaps 120 lbs to lose. From my experience, there…
  • I lost 36 kg and ate it all back plus some. I was at 127.5 kg and got down to 91 kg. Then, back up to 109 kg. I've learned my lesson and am currently 96.5 kg. I've said this before, but I will never put it back on. I am determined to finish the job in 2019.
  • I have lost around 70 lb and have about 30 to go. It has taken a long time. You don't need to lose all of it to start feeling good. Prior to committing myself to losing weight, I would wake up every morning and mentally beat myself up for being so fat. Once I committed, I would wake up each morning and feel much better…
  • That's exactly what I did. My weight loss was unbelievably slow (but I've lost more than 30 kg now) and I needed to feel good about myself or I would have given up). I focused on the things that I could control that would help me in that regard.
  • You've halved your weight! I also joined mfp in 2012 and have lost 34 kg (with a bit of yoyo-ing). I am 65, have about 12 kg to go. I have had double hip and double knee replacement as a result of being morbidly obese for years. I am enjoying activities I could only dream of. I think you and I have a similar message - it's…
  • I'm mum of 6, youngest is 29. The smallest was 8lb born, the largest nearly 11 lb. I've struggled with weight all my adult life but have finally got my groove on and have lost 75 lb. I have about 30 to go. Today I went to the mall to buy some new clothes. Nothing like store fluorescent lights to show up the flaws I…
  • I've sent you a friend request. I've lost 34 kg post menopause. I feel better at 65 than I did at 35.
  • I'm just beginning strength training too, so thanks for the info! I've checked it out, and it looks great.
  • I'm 65 and I've lost 34 kg. I look at my pre-loss photos and, yes, I look younger but I certainly looked fat and not healthy. I don't really believe that people constantly assess whether you look your age. For those who are seriously worried, there are options such as face lifts. I still have about 12 kg to lose and I'm so…
  • I have lost 74 lb. I count calories and exercise regularly. I have about 20 lb to go. I used to obsess about scales and about what my projected weight loss for a week should be (and rarely was). For me, it has been very slow -it has been rare for me to hit more than 1 lb in a week unless I exercise, in which case it goes…
  • I've lost 34 kg and want to lose another 10kg or so. It's taken a while, not just because weight loss can be slow but because I've yo-yoed a fair bit. I'm pretty sure I'M cured of that and will NEVER go back to where I was. I log every day but don't always log my food. I'm six weeks post a double knee replacement as a…
  • I'm 65. I have lost 34 kg and would like to lose around 10 kg. I would still be outside my supposed healthy BMI, but I'll reassess when I get there. I've had both hips and both knees replaced as a result of my former morbid obesity. I track calories, exercise on my recumbent bike most days. Once I got into a routine, it…
  • Wow, Tiffany. Well done. Couldn't see your dimples on your before shot!
