  • Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin! Showed it to my students today and they thought it was a cool VINTAGE cartoon! Ha! I love that they loved it
  • Bump! Yummy- thanks
  • Another really quick egg breakfast - I make this every other morning (alternating with oatmeal) pour liquid egg whites into a glass bowl, pop in microwave for 1-2 minutes, buy pre-packaged pico de gallo or make your own, scoop some on top. I eat it in the car! :)
  • *make that Nordstrom's creamy tomato BASIL soup - stupid autocorrect on I pad won't let me go back and edit:laugh:
  • For my husband and I both, I prep our lunches for the week on Sundays. I bake chicken breasts seasoned with herbs, lemon juice, garlic, or Mrs. Dash (has no msg) - whatever you prefer! Then, I choose a frozen veggie mixture, some brown rice, and put in about 3/4 cup of each. It's easy and so quick to pop in the microwave!
  • Dancing will work for an estimate, however, I found that the estimates were not very accurate once I began wearing a heart rate monitor. I strongly recommend one!

  • Wow this thread is long! I'm 24, have lost 10 pounds and have 5 -10 more to lose! Feel free to add me, I'll be adding people from this thread :)
  • C25k is "couch to 5 k", for people that are not runners and it slowly works them up to completing a 5 k. Just google it, if you're interested. As to the exercise question, it's very important that you read the forum rules posted by mike (they show up first in the message board threads) that explains the calorie thing in…
  • Gummy bears for mid-marathon!
  • I really like Jillian Michaels 6 week 6 pack for focusing on abs...you get a decent burn for about a 25 minute DVD, and I always notice quite a difference in my tummy when I do it faithfully. In fact, I may just be inspired to do it in the morning :)
  • I added you :) let's get going!
  • My WHOLE family used my wedding as a big motivator - my mom and aunt lost 20 lbs each, my dad lost 15, and I lost 10! We've all kept it off and it was 18 months ago. Have fun getting ready for it - my mom and I grew very close through the whole process

  • I'd say do it, just don't spend a ton on the pair... You can do that once you make your goal!
  • Cut up veggies, fruit, roasted (unsalted) nuts, yogurt, hummus...many to choose from!
  • Margaritas - used to be my alcoholic beverage of choice! Agh! Now, I never want to waste my calories on any alcohol, but can't believe I was drinking over 400 calories of worthlessness! And usually wih chips and salsa! (still do love those, though - I just try to cut back)
  • Yes, you can substitute whole wheat flour! It's never as fluffy, a bit flatter but still good. I've not tried substituting for sugar - I bet if you google 'sugar substitutes' you can come up with a good sweetener (what about honey?) Let us know how it goes!
  • Just move up a level! Add heavier weights, too - I bet you will be feeling sore afterwards :)
  • Bump - thanks! I am always looking for healthy recipes that my husband will like, too!
  • Welcome! I will send you a request - it can be frustrating when you don't have much to lose ( it goes slowly) but very rewarding each time you even lose a bit! You can do it
  • Awesome! Let us know how you broke through- most people struggle with a plateau at some point...
  • Even if you can't log in, get creative with working out each day. Fit in a walk, take the stairs, take advantage of any pools. Write down what you eat to keep yourself accountable. And try packing healthy snacks to have as back ups, or to at least keep you less hungry when you are around fast food. You will be fine! Enjoy…
  • I love mine! It is important to rinse the band after each use and wash it regularly....it lasts longer and protects that investment. Also, I've noticed that my band slips during a workout if I don't tuck it under my sports bra. Many people say theirs is fine wherever, but that is what works for me!
  • Also, sometimes having a high calorie day followed by low calorie days resets your metabolism and helps you lose! Don't do it all the time if course, but it can be beneficial
  • That is what I was thinking about trying - since it seems to be that milk contains BOTH proteins... worth experimenting, I think! p90X always recommends chocolate milk post workout.
  • I agree that you should check with what your doctor says is best!!! This is a great place for personal, not professional opinions...
  • You may not be eating enough healthy fats ( try nuts, avocados, fish, olive oil)... these types of fats REALLY help you feel satiated!!!
  • I couldn't get the link to work - but if we aren't supposed to be fitted by a runner's store, what is the suggestion to get shoes that work well for you? The wrong types have given me shin splints until I changed them...
  • Something to consider is that women often do very well on a lowER carb/ higher protein diet. Not that you shouldn't eat carbs, but as we are trying to tone muscle protein is a great way to do it. I've changed my carb and protein to 40 % each...it is very difficult for me to get 40% protein but I am noticing a change in my…
